Warby Parker has a location on Washington avenue, right by the Bonobos store, uptown circus, sexworld, etc. I personally use [Broeker Optical](http://broeckeroptical.com/) and have been pleased with them.

I compared a bunch of places last year including Walmart and Costco and came to the conclusion that Warby Parker had the least expensive exam. It actually seemed a lot better than the place i used to go, the optometrist was good and they have all new equipment in there. It was $120 for glasses and contact exam and i think the breakdown was $80 for glasses exam and additional $40 for contacts. (It may have been $70/$50, idk) Furthermore Warby has a feature where you can re-up your prescription from the app for 40 bucks but i have not tried it.
Costco was the next cheapest for exam and it was $250 for glasses and contacts. The glasses at Warby were the cheapest also next to ordering online from a place like Zenni.

I just go to visionworks for the eye exam, but glasses I've done online with EyebuyDirect and Zenni for cheap ones, and for nice ones I go to Huxley Optical, in Ridgedale and Rosedale.

I did my last eye exam at a Target Optical location and was pleased with it. The exam was around $89 without insurance. I got my glasses at Target too and I can't say I recommend them. The price was decent but I've had to have the lenses replaced twice because they've scratched. I followed their cleaning instructions to the letter and it still happened.

Owl Optical in Linden Hills. 4318 Upton Ave S I need to seen an ophthalmologist, so I haven't had an eye exam with them, but I am very satisfied with the glasses I bought in 2019. They have a good selection of frames.
