I've only had a repair done once, by Hansen. The guy was professional enough, the appliance worked when he was done, and the price seemed fairly reasonable. $75 total to put a new band on a washer, which seems fine for a house call. (This was a rental, so it ultimately wasn't coming out of my pocket. Otherwise I probably would have fixed it myself.) https://g.co/kgs/saERw0

what's wrong with it? may be an easy fix. consider the age of the appliance. can you get a matching unit/style for your kitchen? buy a new one. they only cost a few hundred. most of the people I know don't use or like dishwashers. I swear by mine though... temp boost rocks.

I'm with consensus here. Look up videos on YouTube and diagnose the problem yourself. If it's relatively inexpensive you should be able to do it yourself. If not, you probably want to buy a new fridge.

Fixed my fridge once by going to YouTube and watching videos on how to diagnose the issue and which part to get. Cost me $30 and about an hour's time. If it's newer, see if it's on warranty with Sears.

You may want to check on Youtube first. Ice makers are real easy to work on......generally. Sometimes, not so much.
