So...I'm in need of a chiropractor who will see and adjust Matthew today. Preferably a good one and preferably affordable. Thoughts? :)
Anna M. replied:
You could also try Dr. Brian Smoot at Smoot Family Chiropractic. He's a great guy and one of the only other chiropractors I'd trust adjusting me. Again, though, I'm not sure if he would adjust the first visit.

I was just told about Dr. Gibbs today--$35 a visit.
Anna M. replied:
Shaun is a chiropractor in South Salinas. I'm not sure about anyone that would see Matthew today AND give him an adjustment though. The way our wonderful insurance companies work with chiropractic means that they usually have to do the consult first and then adjust in another visit. You can get a deal on the consult and x-rays at their website, if you're interested. http://salinaschiropractor.com/
Leslie H. replied:
Dr. Baar in Salinas is incredible. He does so much more than just "adjustments" works with muscles, tendons etc..and yes on the first visit. In South Salinas. I have heard his name from tons of people/patients for years and last year saw him and have been so happy.
Amy R. replied:
I have been to an osteopath in lieu of a chiropractor a few times in recent years and find her to be nothing short of a miracle worker. Dr. Cathy Petronjievic. She is an MD with a holistic approach so she does an adjustment but it isn't cracking and twisting - almost feels like a miraculous massage once you've left. Because she is an MD, you pay whatever your co-pay is - and that is it! Highly, highly recommended.
Becki R. replied:
Dave Drechsler on Romie Ln. Great rates & really helps. Not just a crack & twist kind of chiro.
Jocelyn D. replied:
Dr. Dreschler is the best.
Mali C. replied:

Julie C. replied:

Janine S. replied:
I was going to mention a chiropractor today, but you never know how people feel about them. Dr baar is the best. Sites a lot of muscle therapy. Hunter had a sorts injury in shoulder/neck area. ..a only took one appt. 422-0496 or 76,, cannot remember!
Mindy B. replied:
I've been going to Dr Dreschler for almost 10 years, and I've known him pretty much my whole life. We were neighbors growing up and my sis and I grew up with his kids. I trust him with my life. My entire family goes to him, including my sister's kids. He is great with all ages. My grandma even went to him into her 90's.
Corinne E. replied:

Saw a chiropractor today. Learned that my back is pretty messed up again. The words "severe scoliosis" were thrown around amongst my future chiropractor and massage...
Rebecca C. replied:
Just an FYI via the Mayo Clinic: "Alternative medicine By Mayo Clinic Staff Studies indicate that the following treatments for scoliosis are ineffective: Chiropractic manipulation Electrical stimulation of muscles Biofeedback
Rebecca C. replied:
"Passive manipulation (Chiropractic) is not an acceptable treatment for scoliosis of any kind. Passive manipulation of the spine provides short term symptomatic relief for muscle spasm, but does not impact the size of the curve or the rate of progression. Patients with scoliosis are encouraged to not rely on chiropractic “adjustments” as a means of treatment since these are essentially equal to no treatment at all." http://www.sonoranspine.com/adult-scoliosis.html Sorry...there are some conditions I think are better served by an MD. How about getting a second opinion? (I have a great orthopedic guy I can refer you to.)
Rebecca C. replied:
His name is Dr. Timothy Heyne. He's at Precision Orthopedics on Abbott St. He's been my ortho specialist for several years now.
Jacob J. replied:
A second opinion couldn't hurt. The Mayo Clinic tends to know what they are talking about, and even it if works for a few people, or even worked for me when I was little, it may not now if what they said is remotely true. Thanks for looking out mom, love you bunches!!
Janna E. replied:
Precision Orthopedics: absolutely amazing. Pretty much the best collective group of docs in our area. They are also the orthos that work with the CCS medical therapy unit (aka where the most disabled littles in our area go for OT and PT) fitting kids with assistive devices and surgical options for further mobility. I wish you good luck, and hope that you are able to find a path that gives you the most relief and success.
