Best Place to Buy Assortment of Peppers? I make my own hot sauce but since I've been in SLC, I haven't been able to find a good grocery store that has a wide assortment...

Go to a rancho market.

Harmon's carries Carolina Reapers, Trinidad Scorpions, and ghost peppers. Box of 4 was like $5. Their store in Lehi usually has at least one or two of the above there. I'll see Datil chilis on the shelf as well. Otherwise, it's your typical Serrano/jalapeno/habanero/anaheim assortment.

Do you mind sharing your recipe? Always looking to try new hot sauces.

The Southeast Market (Asian market) on 9 th south often has ultrahot peppers. I've seen ghost peppers, scorpions, and reapers there, but not the last time I went. They always seem to have Thai chilis, though.
kittycatballouu replied:
Pretty much any Hispanic store will carry these. There’s one on 900 West and I think 1000 North right by the freeway entrance that will almost certainly have these.

The Downtown Farmers Market has many vendors with a variety of peppers. That's where I get my peppers beyond my garden for salsa through the summer. It kicks off for the season June 9 th. Outside of that, I would suggest Rancho like others here.
TheGarp replied:
Fellow sauce maker here, I found last year that the fresh superhots can be found at Harmon's starting in Late June. Also check with MIke Scoville's farm on FB: https://www.facebook.com/scovillepepperfarms/
Beuford87 replied:
It's a longshot, but you could check at Harmon's. I saw Carolina Reapers there for about a week last summer. It's the only time I remember seeing anything other than the peppers you mentioned in a store here.
utahjuzz replied:
The farmers market is a great spot for peppers
UtahSTI replied:
I have some frozen datils from last year's garden, as well as datil seeds. I have 5 datil plants in the ground now. Hit me up later this summer and I'll have fresh datils.

Check Liberty Heights Fresh too - https://www.libertyheightsfresh.com/

I'd check the farmer's markets too once they open up. Maybe see if you can find any local gardeners or farmers. I've got Carolina Reapers, Ghost Peppers, Trinidad Scorprions, Scotch Bonnets, Cherry peppers and a handful of more common varieties growing in my garden. Alternatively you could always start to grow your own if you can't find a good supplier. Otherwise, yeah, check the various ethnic markets \- Rancho Market, Las Rosas Mexican Market, Southeast Market, Thai Lao Market. Just google hispanic market or asian market to find ones close to you to try out.
Still trying to find a remote preferably abandoned grocery store for Fix It in Post. Anyone?

Shop-N-Go on 573 E 300 S is my go to spot for anything Indian or sub-continent. I buy a lot of spices there. They also have surprisingly good frozen options like samosas.

Go to Rancho Market for Mexican and other Hispanic groceries! I’m Mexican and that was my go to when I lived in the area. Their produce is super inexpensive and I love their bakery.
