Looking for options for treating joint pain and stiffness of Lyme Disease for someone who cannot take strong medicines. Have heard of antibiotics, yoga, and acupuncture....

Pamela Kelly, I was initially infected with Lyme in '75 when it didn't really have a name yet. I spent that summer in and out of Boston Children's Hospital with classic Lyme symptoms. It reemerged or I was re-infected in 2008 and I have been actively fighting neurological Lyme since then. I bought the tincture online at http://www.pureformulas.com/lyme-nosode-drops-2-oz-by-professional-formulas.html. Coming from a Lyme patient with experience.... No one should think that any one treatment (be it medical or herbal/holistic) will cure it. The Lyme spirochete is a horrid creature that can hide well and almost encapsulate itself so the meds can't get at it. Don't rule out taking meds or trying something holistic or a combo of both. Find a good Lyme literate doc who you feel is listening to you and you need to be your own best advocate. My best advice... Don't let the Lyme get you down....move, lift, exercise, eat clean and rest. If anyone has any questions, you can private message me.

Hi Amy, all acupuncturists are trained to know about pregnancy. I've heard that the Integrative Healing Institute is excellent.

One of the former nurse-midwives at Lonestar Midwives, Jan Olsen, has her own acupuncture studio. I've never had acupuncture by her, but she did deliver my second child! http://eastwestwomenshealth.com/

Dr Dunn is the practitioner's name. He's amazing. Website is www.needlesforpain.com. His office is on Wurzbach & Babcock across from the firehouse. He's an MD not just a licensed acupuncturist - office fee is like $40 but he accepts a lot of insurance plans. If he can't fix the prob - he will tell you & refer you out. I love Dr Dunn.
Anyone know if acupuncture can help with spinal stenosis in the neck? Not looking for a cure, just pain relief...Thanks.

Probably. You should see the best Physiatrist in town, though, and let her advise you. Her name is Dr. Annette Zaharoff. Google her website- non surgical healing!
