Oh so many great suggestions! Thanks to all of you. I think I will be going on a bread expedition as soon as the rain lets up. Bread Gallery looks like a great place for sandwiches but maybe not for authentic French loaves. And places as far as Laguna Hills are not too remote if their bread is great. Ellie's Table is always quick and easy...their cronuts are fabulous. If you are ever in San Juan Capistrano, I would recommend O Gourmet in the Vons shopping center and Pascal over by Marbella Market. Both are french cafes, run by French men, who are doing desserts and pastries right!
