Recommendation for mortgage broker or other mortgage options? Hello! /r/realestate recommends I ask around on the local subreddit for recommendations to get pre-approved...

In my opinion, a mortgage broker really doesn't do a lot of work. Use Zillow or something and find a good rate. If you're a new house buyer, ask up front for everything that needs to happen, and make sure it happens. And ask questions if you're not sure whats what. Your real estate agent will be doing most of the coordinating/scheduling anyhow.

Omar Michel at Bay Equity took care of me. Great guy and patient with all noobie questions. Don't be afraid to interview them and go with the best option. His number is (858) 657-1053.. Good luck!

If your credit is good enough, I highly suggest a credit union. Apply to all of them in SD, google helps with this. Their reps seemed more honest and less pushy as the brokers. Also, DO NOT go with anyone that your realtor suggests or someone associated with their realty. They will give you the worst terms.

[Matt Brumfield](http://www.zillow.com/profile/Matthew-Brumfield/) (760-525-8603 / mattb@rwmloans.com) at Residential Wholesale Mortgage. We were pre-approved with SDCCU and only approached him as a second opinion lender, but his prompt responses, knowledge of the industry, and ability to offer better terms caused us to switch.

Are you in the real estate industry? Let me know if you ever need someone to help with marketing such as brochures, branding, a website, or someone to pump up a Keller...
Amy D. replied:
He does everything. He just finished branding for a local lemonade company. Last year he built a website and created branding for a home concierge company and created an album cover for Allan Holdsworth who is known as one of the world's greatest guitarist. Right now he's working on a logo for a new farmers market in San Diego. He can do just about anything! He has the flu right now but should be back on his feet soon. I'll send you some examples of his past work Danella Diamond. He also designed our wedding invitations and the wedding menu. I think I have pictures of those somewhere. I need to create another post that lists every type of project he's willing to take on. Thanks for bringing this up Danella.
