KnB is as shady as they come, it's like going to a used car lot, they can quote you a different price over 15 minutes for anything nice. Park Place Liquor is the best.

There are a number of Chaldean owned liquor stores in East County and another in Kearny Mesa on Convoy with pretty amazing selections. Items you can't find anywhere because they don't give a shit about industry distribution guidelines. It won't be cheap though.

I use them both; just depends on the balance of flavors the drink calls for. In a pinch, Fee's is usually available at Total Wine, but they use high fructose corn syrup now. John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum is a liqueur and to me has a lovely taste that make cocktails come alive especially traditional Exotic Tiki cocktails, it tastes proper.
