Fanci - One of the MOST INCREDIBLE "Experiences" these days is Joanna's • Cocina EclecTica!! Check out her work in progress new soon to be released fb page showing LOTS of unique mouthwatering dishes, etc.: http://facebook.com/CocinaEclecTicaEscazu S he's an AMAZING cook & it's a VERY UNIQUE experience (plan on being there at LEAST 1-1/2+ hours)!! She LOVES teaching people about the marrying of unique•eclectic flavors & spices!! It's not a place you order at - it's an experience where you just sit back & see what amazing dishes she's going to bring out!! (Boca-ish size).

Could somebody recommend a nice moderate-priced resort or hotel in the Manuel Antonio, or Dominical area with beach access, maybe a pool and nice surroundings???
Nicki B. replied:
Our favorite is Hotel Verde Mar in Manuel Antonio. Pool and right on the beach.
Niki S. replied:
On the beach in Jaco... La Catalina Hotel. Away from the noise on the southern end, easily walkable to downtown center, very clean, price is moderate, hotelcatalinacr.com.
Nicki B. replied:
Rates change depending on season and room accommodations. We're a family of 4 and I think it was $90 a nt. in high season. Check them out here. http://www.verdemar.com/ and you can always negotiate price.

Keep all recommendations coming! One of my weeks in CR this summer is with a girlfriend and we're looking for very inexpensive in the Manual Antonio area. I've stayed at Mango Moon (LOVED it), but it's above her budget.

Hello everyone. I am heading to Jaco for the first time. Any restaurant recommendations? Or fun things to do? I will have a 10 and 6 year old with me. Thanks.
Sid O. replied:
Lemon Zest is the very best in Jaco. If you like sushi, then there's no other than Tsunami Sushi. For Sports Bar and Grill, i recommend Los Amigos and the new Kokomo's. Fun things to do, follow One Lucky Dogg Tours and Travel on F.B https://www.facebook.com/OneLuckyDoggTours
Jacob P. replied:
Sid said it best! Los Amigos has some GREAT food for all ages and appetites!

Drive South a bit and check out Playa Hermosa. Backyard Bar for a drink (kids can play on beach) and stop at Bocha Pizza for a great pizza.
Susan R. replied:
Jaco Taco at the North end of town on the main drag. On the Boca menu order the taquitos with shedd5 ed beef or chicken. Free chips and salsa if you ask and it comes with guacamole. $5 and plenty for a adult so more than enough for kids.
Jessica T. replied:
Add Marea Baja for low end (but actually one of my faves anyways).

My, my. Such vitriol over so little. To the matter at hand, there are so many amazing places to eat in PV and area. Koki Beach has wonderful chairs to watch the sunset and sip drinks. But for totally out of the world amazing, try La Pecora Nera in Cocles (about 5 miles out of PV) ... Italian in the jungle, magic. A bit further south still, Jungle Love is fantastic.
Jessica S. replied:
Thanks Erin Raub. I think we may do Puerto Viejo as well. Anyone have any suggestions for this area as well? Thanks
Leigh D. replied:
I like Limon also, it has a lot of wonderful sites to see. I share what I know. And that drive from Limon to Puerto Viejo has a lot of sites to see. So please don't diss what people have to post, Mr. Thomas P. Rosenberger. Besides, Limon will always be close to my heart. That is where my husband died just last Saturday.
