If you don't mind public transportation, you can get the airport shuttle bus that takes you to the subway -- called "the T" in Boston. This would put you on the "Blue Line." Take it inbound to State Street. At State Street, get on the Orange Line outbound (toward Oak Grove). One of the later stops is Malden Center. It's probably the easiest and certainly the cheapest way to do the route, especially at that hour. You can see a map of the T at http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/subway/

Super Sarretto in Escazu. Carries way more European stuff than any other store in the city. As for American.. they have a good selection and it's not associated with Walmart!!

Santa Barbera de Heredia - you can find "El Arco de las yerbas" on WAZE. Also they have a great web page that tells you how to arrive by bus. You can pay to take a tour or just go to the greenhouses where they sell plants.
