Hello Andrea I used Ignacio Guzman for my car purchase LawyerofCostaRica.com
We are selling our 2013 RAV4 if you are interested? We just purchased it when we moved to CR in March 2016 and did so through Jacqueline Monacell. However, because we live in the Southern Zone, we need something with higher clearance and better off road 4 wheel drive capacity. PM me if you are interested in more info. Otherwise, Jacqueline is very good person to assist with all aspects of purchasing. including incorporating if you want to and getting the car inspected.
URGENT .. Anyone know of a trustworthy mechanic/garage in the Escazu/Rohrmoser area or Santa Ana if need be? Thanks!

Bill Nixon, we are importing. I was in the auto insurance industry for 10 years and want to get something that hasn't suffered the Costa Rican potholes. Also want the ability to do a solid history and avoid accidentally purchasing a prior salvaged vehicle.

Our entire video system and radio in our Dodge Caravan no longer turns on. Can anyone recommend a mechanic who has in-depth knowledge on vehicle electrical systems?
Larry K. replied:
I know they will be pricey, but we've used Autostar, the Chrysler/Jeep/bunch of other brands dealership in Uruca, just like dealing with a dealership back in the states, which may or may not be a good thing for you. They are also in Escazu, they stand behind their work if a problem arises. Here's the link, if interested, http://www.autostar.cr/automoviles/

Getting tired of used cars in Costa Rica. Too many repairs--cheap cost of mechanics is a plus but this is offset by the equally poor quality of replacement parts....
Alexa B. replied:
Charlie Burns it may be that the seller didn't have any idea. There are people here who are bringing a lot of cars in from the states. All the popular models - Rav4, 4Runner, etc. and they are the ones rolling back the odometer before they sell it. In the last year I ran into two people like that with multiple cars that had been rolled back. When confronted with the facts from Carfax they claimed that "someone else did it in the states" before they got it. In any case. Due diligence is necessary.
