Search for and download this if you want to attempt diagnosing yourself - 1996-2002_4 runner_repair_wiring_manuals. Has helped us heaps. We have an 01 and it seems after 99-00 Toyota decided to integrate a lot of systems. Ours idles low but to fix means replacing the throttle body with integrated Idle Air Control valve. We have already ditched the integrated ABS, traction control thingy with a regular brake booster and master cylinder see it here -http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/144533-Flightless-4 runner. Get in touch if you have questions. Fingers crossed it something simple.
