Does anyone know if i need a doctor's prescription to get medicine for irritable colon and where i can get it from ?
Natalie N. replied:
huisarts is your first stop to ask for smth. If you know what you need you may check here if prescription is necessary http://www.apotheek.nl/Medische_informatie/Medicijnen/Medicijnen/default.aspx?mId=10698&rId= For simple medicine ask at Etos or Kruidvat (some "huisartsen" pretend that they don't know about these medical products). If you read Dutch, http://www.apotheek.nl/Medische_informatie/Klachten___ziektes/Aandoeningen/Prikkelbaredarmsyndroom.aspx?mId=10701&rId=26

Hi Marina, fibres are available over the counter, ask for psyllium vezels. But, they can only help if thats whats lacking in your diet. Good meds that help for the severe cramps are antispasmodics, but they are prescription meds. They helped me quite a bit! Also, i'm a dietician specialized in gastrointestinal disorders and help so many people with ibs. If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact me www.focusvoeding.nl

Check out International Clinic of the Carolinas in Raleigh, off Blue Ridge Road. I found them via my insurer's website, when looking for a new physician. First time I went there, I was the only non-Hispanic person in the waiting room. Dr. Llibre and Dr. Tonas are both really great.
I_Drink_Leche replied:
If you go to duke primary care website you can see profiles about the providers at each clinic and they list languages they speak. Certain clinics aren't accepting new patients, but you could still try to call and explain your situation and see if someone will be willing to see him

Raleigh Botox and Laser Center. Dr. Vincent Nacouzi. He speaks Spanish and is a medical doctor. Very good one. At least call and ask if he'll see you. Edit: basically he might see you for free.

Erin my husband has just spent 17 nights in Erlangen University Hospital and the care he received was amazing. He was in for that length of time because as Lisa said, he didn't fit the norm, and it took 10 days to work out was was wrong with him. The professors and doctors all spoke English to us. They assigned nurses to his room who could speak English. They even printed off information in English, so he was fully aware of everything. I have a dear friend in the hospital at the minute and I am praying she is getting the same kind of care xx
Lisa B. replied:
Jeanne, I had a very good experience with the doctors at the Trasfusion Medicine in Erlangen. It's where people donate blood, too. I THINK they are blood doctors. Nicole Kienle? Do you know?
Catherine I. replied:
Isn't it at the end of Schillerstrasse, across from the university's Law Building? (Audimax?)
Jeanne S. replied:
Thanks All! Nicole Kienle Yes I was given a letter however it says the source of the problem is "unklare" meaning they have no idea. It gives not follow up doctors or info. I was really shocked just how horrible the docs in Gunzenhausen were but thats another story. My Prof. Hubby has many friends who are consultants, doctors and professors and although they would never diagnosis anything over the phone they say all the symptoms "sounds like" Pernicious anemia and I should find someone who can do more thorough blood tests. So I will start down that road.
Sheila R. replied:
I've been going to one for years at Nägelsbachstrasse in Erlangen. Either Dr Eckart (male) or Dr Häcker (female). Both are excellent.
Jeanne S. replied:
Oh Rebecca trust me I am not afraid. My first experience in German Hospitals 7 years ago was when I broke my shoulder and they wanted to amputate!! I can be the patient from Hell!! That is why I checked myself out of the hospital yesterday when they said this is not heart related. They said they do not know what it is so I said Tschüß!! Sheila do you a phone number?
Does anyone know where I can go and speak to a doctor in English without any language issues? Thanks
Stu R. replied:
Delta Health- Gubei
Anna P. replied:
In any foreign hospitals + the same doctors are working in VIP departments in local big hospitals, like Reiging hospital, for example. In VIP departments they do speak English, but the cost is much cheaper than in foreign hospitals.

Aundrea C. replied:
Vidalia Children's Center. We love Dr. Miller there and Dr. Pournelle a dentist in Soperton takes children over 4.
Candace C. replied:
Dr. Turner at Vidalia Children's Center is great! Both my boys see her and they love her.
Princess M. replied:
Barrett Dentistry n Vidalia she is great on the same road as the old hospital
Sara W. replied:
Vidalia Children's Center. Always take my child at last minute so I don't see why the other person had to wait so long. I had bad experience with Vidalia Pediatrics a few years back my child would be deaf today because of them. I'm sure it has different Dr now. Luckily we were out of town and had to see another Dr. And he has full hearing but things could have gone really bad...
Summer H. replied:
Dr. Miller at the vidalia children's center is really good. I had my children at vidalia pediatrics and my daughter had a uti and was in pain they did not want to put her on anything until her test results came back which would have been three more days. Also when transferring records I had to go up there multiple times and call just so they would send them. Dr. Pournell is good my children like him.
Emily M. replied:
Vidalia Pediatric Center. I love the group of Drs in there! Also Dr Pournell in Soperton takes Well care & Amerigroup! I know the one here in Vidalia (Barrett dental I believe) only accepts Amerigroup. We love him! Wonderful dentist!
Tonya C. replied:
Dr. Pournell is well liked from my household. I am also wondering about a good pediatrician. Mine use the Children't Center, but I have not been impressed. Maybe I am not seeing the right doctor up there.
Cameron G. replied:
Vidalia Pediatrics is a very nice place to go honestly, great staff and always willing to help and work with you
Christa C. replied:
Dr. Pournelle is by far the best dentist in our area, also we use Vidalia Pediatrics, Dr. Machado is usually right on point but his PA Archie is excellent. I have 4 kids and have used them for over 6 years, same day appointments, and the nurses and office staff remember our names, they treat you like people, not patients.

Andrea G. replied:
Yes, Dr. Cooper is great. Dr. Marc Hammerman is fantastic for ortho/ knees especially. He provided me with at home aggressive strenghtening exercises and never had to go to PT therapy. 5 years post op. The office says to call them before you drive in to see if they are running behind. So they give you a better time frame to come in so you dont have to wait long in the office at all.

Dr Michael Ruddy in Fort Lauderdale one of the next orthopedic surgeons
Is there a good doctor in SPI or PI with a private practice, not a clinic?

Holly M. replied:
Dr. Guevara has ripped me and my insurance company off so many times during the last 2 yrs that I was going there- billing for procedures that I Didn't have done. He made me have about 20 appointments in one year and wouldn't refil any prescriptions if I didn't. Had my last blood work there 3 months ago, and although he charged $360 for the office call (which was 2 hrs waiting for a 5 min. video visit), not including lab work costs. He wouldn't give me the results of my lab work unless I came in for another appointment. Clearly fraud if you ask me.
