Marita M. replied:
I think you could probably trust any veterinary practice in Sandpoint with your pup. If this particular hairless breed has peculiarities uncommon in most breeds, you can always print something out and hand it to them. That's what we do when we use a new vet. We use Center Valley Vet and have so for a few years. They're reasonably priced, easy to talk to, and treat the animals with love and respect. We used North Idaho Animal Hospital for a while and while I love their up-to-date equipment, they got way too expensive for us, since we have 3 dogs.

Sometimes it's better to let a professional figure things out as opposed to trying things at home, don't want to make things worse. (not trying to start drama, just stating that I work in a vet clinic and see people try stuff at home all the time and it often ends up making the problem worse.) Call North Idaho Animal Hosp (208) 265-5700 we'd be happy to help if we can!

Dr. Stoll at animal medical on superior is awesome...if he doesnt take payments, try the vinegar or colloidal silver until you have the money for a check up. Also, if you switch to a better food from a pet store go to PAMPURRED PETS on triangle drive...it's locally owned so you are supporting local business and an awesome family. Plus, if they don't have what you need you could probably ask about them ordering it...it never hurts to ask.

Pendoreille Veterinary center. We take our 5 cats there. One had severe allergy issues, they did an extensive allergy panel, we treated him with subcutaneous shots for a few years and now he's allergy free. They are a "fear free" practice and take a holistic view of pet health. And the vets, vet techs and office staff truly love animals. I can't say enough about them, very pleased with the care our felines receive there.
Tina S. replied:
I will only use North Idaho Animal Hospital in Sandpoint. They have always provides superior care for all of our fur babies. We have used them for the past 17 years. I have always been provided options. The other thing that is important is that their office staff is of high quality. Depends on how far you want to go but the place with the best equipment and staff to diagnose and treat difficult issues is WSU Vet Hospital. For anything serious I skip local vets and go straight there. They diagnosed a spinal nerve disorder in one of our dogs that presented similarly which 3 local vets could not diagnose. They have the equipment in house to do lab work and process it same day. Most vets have to send labs out for processing. Because they do their own processing they cost less on most labs too so you get your gas money back on the savings. Your drive time is the drawback but if you want answers.... https://vth.vetmed.wsu.edu/

I take my animals (domestic pets AND farm animals) to Doc Holly Brophy at Veterinarian Services in Hayden. SOOOOOOO worth the drive! I have NEVER met a better vet! I can tell you SO many stories of amazing things she has done, that I have personally seen. Most recently my mother drove up here from AZ last month to bring her dog that had a cancer tumor on her leg. The vets in AZ wanted about $1300 + to remove it, and said that unless they removed the leg they couldn't guarantee they would get it all. Doc Holly removed the tumor, and did it for about 1/2 of what they would have charged in AZ, & Mom's dog (who is about 13 years old with a heart murmur) is doing BEAUTIFULLY! We will NEVER go to another vet.

I use Holly Brophy in Hayden. She is SO worth the drive, first office visit/exam free (you only pay for shots/treatments or medications). She is the ONLY one I trust with my animals! I can not tell you how many miracles I have seen her come up with! I just had her do surgery on my kitten earlier this month on his throat & he is almost totally healed, & doing SO fantastic! She also provides ALL the care for foster dogs in the area for the rescue I work with! We have even sent a few dogs from Oregon up here for her to treat! NO KIDDING! She is THAT good! She isn't the cheapest around, but she isn't expensive either. But you wont believe how good her care is & as a person she is amazing too. When you can TRUST someone that much, it is so worth the drive! This sounds nuts but my Mom comes up from Arizona so her dogs can see Doc Holly! Do your pet a favor & just call her office. 772-3221 I promise you wont be sorry! And with first visit free, what have you got to lose?
