The Sangria Grill is absolutely an amazing dining experience

I know this isn't exactly ON the islands, but Sanibel Harbour Resort (Marriott) that is just before the causeway offers a Sunday Brunch cruise. It would maybe be a neat way to see the island from an entirely different point of view while also getting an awesome meal. http://www.marriott.com/hotel-restaurants/rswsb-sanibel-harbour-marriott-resort-and-spa/sanibel-harbour-princess-yacht/5136457/home-page.mi

Kasey A. replied:
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times on Sanibel & Captiva! Weather is great, almost all the restaurants are open and the day after Thanksgiving is my favorite event: The Tween Waters Tree Lighting! We just left Sanibel on Monday and our family of six ate at many of the places mentioned above. On our last day we tried somewhere new...Rosie's Cafe. We all agreed it was the best casual meal of the vacation. The Shrimp Po Boy was the best I ever had. A new family fav.

Will be arriving this year a week from tomorrow. Had a phenomenal time last year. Our younger son will be 30 while we're in Sanibel. He suggested for this special occasion to go out to dinner at II Tesoro for dinner that night. Other than being pricey, we do have a Groupon. Anyone been there? I've read mixed reviews on many sites.

Doc Fords. We always have great meals there. We had a mediocre meal at the Cow last month and dislike the fish house. Sanibel Grill also is a great choice

I like all mentioned, but do not like Sanibel Grill. Nobody we have taken there likes it either. We like to go there to catch our teams game. Island Cow is yummy. Huge menu.
What's a good family seafood local restaurant in the Sanibel/Ft. Myers area. Doc Ford's was recommended at the visitors center?
Julie M. replied:
Doc Ford's is great.

Island Cow is a nice family restaurant. Also, the Blue Giraffe in Periwinkle Place Center is nice too. If you just want something simple for young kids, Cheeburger Cheeburger on Periwinkle is also a good choice.

The Bubble Room in Captiva

Bailey Shell Museum and Ding Darling at low tide. My daughter took her 5 year old to some Pirate Cruise in Fort Meyers one night and she loved it. They did the Thriller too but you said it was closed. Our granddaughter liked all of the above plus The Lazy Flamingo and the birds and shopping at Jerry's.

My son's baseball team, parents etc. came to Ft Myers for the Perfect Game tournament and I had a chance to eat at the Fords Garage downtown. It was awesome! Great food and better beer selection. As coaches, we enjoyed the time out. We had a GREAT time! Go check it out Sandy, you'll like it....fun place!
Sandy K. replied:
Kevin Joe Stahl. That's funny. Pulling up in a Chevy. I drive a Ford F-150. Proudly. Lol. I would think the proprietors do too. Ha ha.
Ambyr C. replied:
I used to work for the company that owns them. I worked at Cabos Cantina. The atmosphere in the cape is better than downtown. and the burgers are amazing at both places.
Sandy K. replied:
Good burger at Fords Garage? Craving a good burger.
Patricia D. replied:
Right across the street is Dolce Vita. Awesome pastas and authentic European food. Yum. We passed over the burgers at Ford for a more civilized meal. We were delighted.
