Tere Davis, her business is called "Sew What" (707) 762-8668 or (707) 280-8668. She is AMAZING!! She altered my wedding dress as well as all the bridesmaids, my Moms mother-of-the bride dress.... Since then we have taken numerous pants, sweaters, suits, blouses to her for hemming & repairing. She has VERY reasonable rates. I cannot recommend her highly enough!!
Jennifer T. replied:
She also has a website: www.sewwhatbride.com (She actually makes wedding gowns & bridal party gowns as well)
Good place to get a suit tailored? I was recently gifted a custom suit by my sister deployed overseas. We took my measurements, but the suit still runs a little small....

The Tuxedo Gallery on 4 th st. Not sure if they do stuff that wasn't bought from them. But they do a great job.

Was it custom made by a local overseas and then shipped? If it's an international company they'll fix it for free or lower cost. Otherwise I'd go to Petaluma and visit Elegant Alterations. No one north of Sausalito does work that's even comparable to her. She's altered a suit and several dress shirts for me. She's the only one I've encountered who does alterations properly, aka taking the item apart and altering *all* of it, instead of just the parts you want.

Carlos the tailor at Louis Thomas in Petaluma does a good job.
Okay Bay Area, where can I find a good tailor to help me with a not-inexpensive dress. Anywhere SF north to Sonoma County is cool. I just need someone really good.
