Can very pretty heavily depending on if they want to "blend" the adjacent panels and the work needed to ensure he quality. Any quality shop will strip the panels to be painted to ensure that they can guarantee the match and ensure the clear coat does not peel. Regardless of what shops say, it is near impossible to "butt match" colors to match, even wth paint codes, especially if you get into Metallic or Three Stage paint. Also keep in mind, if they are "blending" panels they need to be clean of scratches and damage as well, any repairs of said panel would lead to blending the next. That's why a simple fender scratch can and should cost you more than 1k to fix properly. In your situation, honestly, I would pay to have someone do a wet sand and buff, it will cost you a fraction of the cost and you'll save yourself the anger directed at the old lady who dings your 1800 fender paint job, which she inevitably will. I ran body shops for ten years and quit because it's such a scam. My view on body shops? Stay far away unless you absolutely need them. There's a reason they call them "estimates" and in this area of life, you really get what you pay for. PM me if you need help looking at estimates, deciding if you're getting fucked. I'm in SD and have a lot of bad karma to fix in this industry so my knowledge is all yours
