Anyone have glowing words about a GP doctor in Sarasota?
Cindy B. replied:
My hubby started seeing Dr. Steven Grogg last year, and loves him. He's a DO, internist and certified in pediatrics. (Which is perfect for Michael Brown, since he's never actually grown up.) Takes time with patients, isn't a "pill pusher." My in-laws go to Dr. Ramirez in the same office and they love her, too. MedPeds Associates of Sarasota, (941) 955-8800.
Betsy T. replied:
Kristin Paulus is my GP and lots of the orchestra ladies use her and we all love her. First physicians group...923-5882.

Diana L. replied:
Also second Dr. Woodiwiss at Bloomingdale Medical Center!!
Dave B. replied:
I use Dr Rivera in fishhawk, and am happy. Bloomingdale Medical behind walgreens was terrible for me. Was shocked at how unhelpful they were in treating me a few years ago. "Elevated blood pressure? What's that? Not sure how to treat it. Thanks for stopping in, though."
Kelly G. replied:
Sophia Cruz-Klopp same office. Bloomingdale Medical Associates.
Dave B. replied:
Dr Rivera draws blood in the office and sends it out to quest for analyzing. At least saves the patient from the inconvenience of having to set up a separate trip to Quest, where you spend an hour in a waiting room overflowing with coughing, hacking sickies.
John S. replied:
If you go to Quest, or Lab Corp, make an appointment on line first, and spare yourself the wait in the office. Both are very good in that respect.
Janele K. replied:
Bloomingdale Med does offer lab work. Some insurances, such as Cigna aren't contracted with them, so they send out to Quest. But if it is an emergency, they can do it in office. Dr. Rivera's office does lab draws in office too, but for Cigna there is a $5 charge to do it there. I think varying insurance companies have varying protocols.
Cammie Y. replied:
Noorani Medical Center and they draw labs in office, no waiting!! They are on bell shoals...
Leslie A. replied:
I love Dr. Rivera. She is right in FH Park Square. She is more about preventative measures rather than handing out meds easily. My husband and I both adore her.
Sophia C. replied:
Amy, I go to Dr. Woodiwis with Bloomingdale Medical Associates (behind Walgreens). She is really great and waiting time's a breeze. Kelly, what office are you referring to?
Audrey A. replied:
I second Dr. Rivera!
Jeffrey L. replied:
Dr. Noorani and Dr. Moorison are fantastic!
Tanya B. replied:
Dr. Michelle Judah. Valrico Brandon Medical Group on Lithia Center Lane off of Lithia Pinecrest. Not only is she my doctor she's my shrink as I can't afford a psychiatrist. She really listens and doesn't push medications and procedures like some doctors do1
Kris F. replied:
I told you about her specifically when you asked John K Tudek Sr.. Maybe Dr. Noorani could get you in tomorrow... Consider that ; )

Jeffery S. replied:
I'm very sorry to hear this. If I hear of a good female MD in that area (not affiliated with the Intercoastal Medical Group), I'll send her your way. Unfortunately, Dr's are doing this more and more. It's called "concierge medical services". I've had several MD former clients go this route. They are completely frustrated with the way the Medical Services industry is completely taken over by the insurance companies & other controlling influences that, they feel, inhibit them from practicing the medicine they feel they should be practicing.
Lynne C. replied:
Wendy, Connie Purser in LWR.
Jeffery S. replied:
Lynne, funny I helped set Dr Purser up several years ago. I thought she was going concierge then!
