Can anyone recommend a local, non-dealer BMW mechanic/shop? My valve cover gasket seems to have sprung a leak and I need to find an honest, fair shop to replace it. Any...

Auto Europe on Piedmont Circle. I used them a lot on a 2008 330 i but got a newer car that I've been taking to the dealer since it's under warranty. Auto Europe is great though and you're definitely not paying extra for a fancy waiting area like other places.

Jeff over at German Autowerks. My cousins are huge BMW fans, but not really good with working on cars. They have been going to Jeff for a while and they have never had an issue with his work. He sorta specializes on BMWs if I'm not mistaken. edit: added link... [https://www.yelp.com/biz/german-autowerks-atlanta-atlanta](https://www.yelp.com/biz/german-autowerks-atlanta-atlanta)

S&J in Riverdale is my place. Just had my valve gasket cover replaced in October on my 2009 528 i, it costs me around $600 with an oil change. They have serviced my car since the warranty expired and I have always been pleased.

Recommendation to avoid Markert Motorworks, neither honest nor fair in my experience with them.

Had a good experience with these guys off Cheshire Bridge. Found them to be responsive, honest, and fair: [http://europeananddomesticautocare.com/](http://europeananddomesticautocare.com/) I had my brakes replaced and called around to various import shops and these guys beat them all pretty handily on price. In the process they discovered a valve cover gasket issue that may be similar to what you have (seems to afflict BMW's of a certain age regularly). I don't remember specifically what they quoted me for it (haven't had it done yet), but I remember it seemed pretty reasonable (meaning expensive because it's a BMW, but not bonkers).
