I put down vinyl strips (wood look alike) from Home Depot throughout my home. Love i! Easier maintenance than hardwood or laminate. One bad thing - dust bunnies! I remember those from when I was a child in my parents home (linoleum tile).

We put down Laminate flooring in my sewing room love it but we also put a electric heating pad under it so I have warm toasty feet in the winter here in MI. The electric floor is themostate controled so when I am going in I crank it up when I come out I turn it down, has not made a difference in our electric bill.
