LOVE Dr. Elizabth Reidy at Schoolhousr pediatrics. I also here great things about Central Family Practice
Felicity M. replied:
Second rec for Bee Cave Pediatrics - we see Dr. Ruiz & did a delayed vac schedule. Love her care & very happy with all of the other drs there too. Agree that Dr. Grier is pretty holistic too - he was happy to chat about pros & cons of antibiotics & ear infections with our little guy (10 mths at the time)
Michele S. replied:
I also agree with Crystal. Dr. Patil was pushy with flu shots amongst others when I made it very clear we were not vaccinating.
Ashley J. replied:
We live SW as well and go to Dr. Hughes at Capitol pediatrics. He is wonderful. He congratulated me on my birthing center birth and asked if I was choosing to vaccinate or not. Plus, the office has after-hours and weekends appointments. Everytime I've been concerned about our little girls sniffles, fevers, etc they always say to let her body do it's thing. Love them.
Shannon J. replied:
Bee Caves Pediatrics is great. Lydia Norton or Dr. Grier are both awesome and understanding when it comes to vaccinating. We have been using that practice for over 6 years.
Amanda G. replied:
Dr Rimer at Southwest Pediatrics is amazing. She was completely supportive of my birth center birth, agreed that she didn't need to see my son until 2 months since the midwives checked him at 6 weeks. She is also so supportive of breastfeeding. She looks at growth according to the breastfeeding WHO charts instead of the outdated ones.
Zina Z. replied:
We use Dr. Grant at beansprouts pediatrics. She's great and love that they don't prescribe meds right away and the have an on call center so that if u need your dr or one of the drs, they will call you.
Aubrey S. replied:
Tiger Clinic. Dr Pruitt in Dripping Springs.
Lacie H. replied:
We use Dr. Spencer at Jollyville Pediatrics. We choose not to vaccinate. She is great! Good luck!
Shayna K. replied:
We go to Dr Grier at Bee Caves Pediatrics right past the mall and he is so understanding of our decision to not vaccinate. Of course he told us his opinion, but stepped back when I said we don't want to. Also, my son went in with a cold (coughing, runny nose, etc) and he told us to just ride it out and let his body heal himself. I was so surprised and happy!
Heather E. replied:
You might like Central Family Practice.
Chrystal G. replied:
Whatever you do, I wouldn't suggest Southwest Pediatrics. We used Dr. Patil for two visits and it was awful. She openly disapproves of birthing center births and immediately pushed formula on us. Beware, she's on the list by mistake
Cyndi O. replied:
We've had the opposite experience with Dr Spencer. We don't feel like she spends enough time with us, especially to listen to our desires, and she's quick to prescribe meds.
Alissa L. replied:
I love Elizabeth Reidy at schoolhouse pediatrics. She worked w me on vaccinations ( I did 2 but will do more?) and us do respectful of your mom needs/knowledge etc.
Ruth S. replied:
I have to disagree with the review of southwest pediatrics. We see Dr. Patil and love her. She has never said anything negative to me about the birth center birth we had, and has been very supportive. We've spaced out vaccines and she was ok with that and when I had problems with milk production she provided a lot of great resources.
Ariana C. replied:
My sister and I were both patients at bee caves pediatrics, and even in college I still go see them! Dr. Ruiz takes a holistic approach, isn't pushy about vaccines, and really respects and listens to kids.
Lynn G. replied:
We love Valerie Wheelock. She's on Bee Caves but worth the trip!
Richelle G. replied:
I wouldn't recommend the whole clinic for sure, but we see Dr. Heidi Busceme at ARC and she has been amazing. She was very supportive of our birth center birth, breast feeding, spacing out vaccines, and only prescribing meds when necessary. My 14 month old son just got his first ear infection (only, hopefully!) and she reluctantly prescribed an antibiotic, but only because he already was fighting a long-term cold and his immune system was already working overtime. I haven't agreed with all her personal recommendations, especially when it comes to sleep, but I just politely thank her and say that's not a solution for us and she lets it drop.
This is kind of a random question, but I was wondering if anyone has recommendations of a good pediatrician? We are moving up here in April and my son will be due for...

LaVonda R. replied:
Is there a good female Dr. here now? I just came back after being gone 20 yrs. Dr. Paley was here and a Young women at the Y. can't think of her name. I would appreciate any thoughts. I just prefer a women GYN.
Megan C. replied:
Dr. Doyle was mine, no complaints right down by the Y - Across from staples.
