Can anyone recommend a piano teacher for 10 and 12 year old kids with some experience? Preferably one that would teach from our home. Thanks!
Alexis R. replied:
Go to TakeLessons.com you can put in the search what you want (piano lessons) what is the max you are able to pay, where the teacher is, whether the lesson is taught from your house or theirs, how much experience they have, etc. I went to the website originally for a math tutor back in college and now recently used for a piano teacher. It's a great website!

To add some context, I would need to take my lessons in the evening (past 5 or 6) or on the weekends as I will be working full time. Not sure if this strongly affects my options or not.

Heh, I just posted this in the other guy's piano thread. Reposting here for kicks: Randy Halberstadt, based in West Seattle, walks on water as far as I'm concerned. I'm a professional musician (bass, guitar, etc) but I've always wanted to REALLY learn piano. His book, "Metaphors for the Musician" opened a ton of doors for me when I bought it ~4 years ago, and I was delighted to find that he lived in the area and taught privately when I moved here. I am very much a beginner when it comes to the piano, and over the last six months I've found him to be an excellent, patient, teacher. http://randyhalberstadt.com/

My boyfriend is a very inspiring teacher. His love for music and the piano is unconditional. He currently has 2 students he teaches separately once a week. He isn’t part of this group, so I’m unsure if I can tag him, but I’m going to try, Brian Becker. Also, here is short clip of his playing earlier this summer at the opening of Pianos in the Park: https://instagram.com/p/BWgnEvMFWVF/
