I would install and run this (free version) and see if it fixes the problems. If so, buy Kaspersky anti-virus. It's $50 a year and worth it. If not, take it somewhere and then install Kaspersky when you get it fixed. https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/premium/

Appears so Jannah. Sorry I googled and got a redirect to that page so I assumed they had a Mac version. Kaspersky install (which this appears to be legit) may also solve the problem. Think I've used every anti-virus and theirs is the best by far in my experience. I've never owned a Mac. http://www.kaspersky.com/security-mac

Mac clinic helped me w a similar issue. I had an adware problem. It was horriffic. It took them an hour. (But I left it overnight)
