Does anyone know a good place to get a tailor-made suit in Seoul?
Gnawbert replied:
I had an excellent suit made at [The Well Dressed Tailor](http://welldressed.co.kr) this spring. It was not cheap, but it's easily the best suit I've ever worn. However, I've since heard that one of the owners of the Well Dressed Tailor has moved on, so I'm not sure whether the quality suffered or remains the same.

There is a huge thread on styleforum about Seoul tailors. After reading it, I decided to go with Han Tailor in Itaewon. Lots of people on styleforum had suits made from him. My suit was 600 iirc and it came out perfectly.

What kindof tailor are you looking for ? There are a ton of tailors in Seoul but in my opinion many of them are out of touch with modern styling. Many tailors that have great technical skills lack an awareness of current trends, or simply refuse to alter how they make a suit. Additionally a lot of the tailors in Itaewon that will give you a suit for 700-800k are using pretty mediocre fabrics in my opinion.
I recently got a suit made by a designer my fiancee used to work for ( she is a designer ) who trained in Italy, and designed for some top companies. I am pretty picky but he had a lot of interesting fabrics, and He definitely listened to exactly what I wanted. He has a much better understanding of modern tailoring than a lot of the other tailors we visited in Seoul that had no idea what I wanted.. He was also brutally honest about what would and wouldnt work on my body as far as features and fabrics. He has a huge range of fabrics ranging from the 700 range for a suit, tie and shirt.. All the way upto to outrageous numbers for fabrics like baby alpaca wool. He speaks great English and is easy to deal with. If you want any additional information or to get in touch with him PM me for details.

Does anyone know what is a reasonable price for a fitted suit in Seoul? Any tailor recommendations?

I live in Songtan, about an hour South of Seoul on the #1 line. Its the main entrance to Osan air base. There are TONS of excellent tailors right outside the base where they compete for business. These guys will make anything you could possibly come up with. Just print out a picture or cut out from a magazine the style, cut, color and design you want. So far I've gotten a Armani knockoff pinstripe suit, a slim cut full tuxedo, and a Mad Men style charcoal business suit...all custom fit. Each suit was approx 200 bucks USD (they will charge you about 220,000 won if you're paying in Korean), but they all came with custom tailored shirts as well. Quite pleased with all my purchases.

I got my suit fitted in korea. Reasonable price would be a little over 200 and you would get some nice fabric and also the suit seems to fit just right with your body. The korean tailors that did it were very friendly and good at what they do.

I am looking for a tailor in Seoul. Any suggestions?
Darren S. replied:
Honestly - I suggest - IF it is possible - wait till you can get to Bangkok - and then go to Rajawongse Tailors. I have had three suits made by them - MUCH MUCH better quality. They have been making suits for George Bush Sr., his security detail, diplomats and other dignitaries, etc. http://www.dress-for-success.com/
