Thank you all for the fast replies back. It will help so much since i feel pressed on time. I did contact Dr. Maddron today and hopefully i hear back soon. I will definitely be looking into the options provided also. I don't mind if i have to travel a bit to Knoxville either. Dr. Love at Leconte was who i saw the other day. And besides my wishes he was very rude and fast to cut me off when i spoke. And at the end he said "you can find another Doctor if you like but this is how i do things". Also telling me a birthing plan is unnecessary. And didn't even acknowledge my partern who was sitting in the room also.

Doctors think 30 seconds is delayed cord clamping. We are using the birthing center in Knox. Baby and company. Cord can stay on as long as I like

I highly recommend Dr. Korten at New Life. I'm not sure what he will tell you but you can ask him. He's truly amazing!

Dr. Maddron delivered my granddaughter and my daughter did the delayed cord cutting and was fantastic through the whole delivery! My daughter saw 3 other OB's in the area before going with Dr. Maddron and loves her!

I'm currently going to Dr. Jennifer Maddron at Lifesprings Women's Health Center. She is wonderful, but I really want to use Baby + Company. It's in Knoxville but they are a birthing center and would probably be more flexible about things such as delayed cord cutting. Have you considered a doula? You should talk to Barbara Steppe of Free Spirit Doula. Very experienced and in tune with your needs. I believe she does some work with Baby+Co as well. I've been seeing Dr. Blache through UT and I really like her in the fact that she's pretty open to whatever you want. I've not felt pressured to do anything a particular way! She's very personable in my opinion.

You've got a lot of answers here, I'll add to the pile I wouldn't use anyone locally except Maddron. I feel like I was pushed into an unwanted cesarean with Women's Care Group under false pretense, but I was satisfied with their maternity care. Perhaps had I know more at the time it would have been prevented. I drive to Newport to see Dr. Jennifer Sauceman as a pediatrician for my daughter. She doesn't love that we don't vaccinate, but they don't kick us out either. I wouldn't see Hollingsworth again if he were my last hope. I simply don't trust him. Not sure if you're having a boy or girl, but since you seem like an open minded mama I just want to throw in that I hope you have done thorough research about circumcision and decided against the unnecessary and dangerous procedure. I'm happy to offer information should you want it. Congratulations on your coming babe, and I wish you a calm and beautiful birth.

I recommend Dr. Brabson. I had 2 babies under his care. The first was an attempted vbac, and the second was a repeat c-section. He was very supportive of my vbac attempt, which unfortunately wasn't successful. I had a family centered c-section with my last. He was all for it! No eye goop or vaccines. Not one word was said about it after we refused them. Plus his staff is amazing and friendly!

Hi Sabrina and welcome to the area! doula mentioned earlier and have a number of suggestions for you. Most of the MDs/midwives who practice as you request are going to be in knoxville. Dr Branson and Dr Eaton are very good... Brabson also has midwives. Baby and Co is having many insurance issues otherwise they are an option too. I'm with casie... wherever you decide to go particularly if you can't come into knoxville, a doula is a wise decision for many many reasons... www.freespiritbirth.com

I loved my doctors at leconte women's health care. They would have done delayed cord clamping for my son but complications arose. As for pediatricians Dr. Hollingsworth requires his patients to be vaccinated.

Jennifer Maddron is amazing she is the only dr in her practice so the only dr you will see she is gentle and kind and just all around a wonderful person you will not find anyone better..Congrats..

I delivered my first baby at the old LeConte and experienced unexpected complications at birth (a birth defect of cleft lip and palate that they failed to diagnose via ultrasound) and my baby was sent to Children's right away. The hospital staff was fine and nice. They didn't have any breastpump to offer since I was away from baby. After this experience, I had my next 2 at Ft. Sanders Regional hospital in Knoxville, right next to Children's. I cannot say enough good things about them. I went to Ft. Sanders Obgyn and saw a couple of different doctors. My favorites were females Dr. Saunders and Dr. Moffat and midwife Sandy Eastam. I really like the peace of mind having a nicu next door in case of unexpected complications. Also, if you are planning on breastfeeding they have lactation consultants and are very breastfeeding friendly. I don't believe LeConte has any real lactation consultants, just maybe some nurses that have bf before supposedly.

Dr. Love is great. He delivered my son 15 yrs ago. He gets to really know you and your pregnancy.

My daughter loves Dr Love and his staff at Leconte medical center. She married a man who is in the Army and had to leave this area before having her baby and she was very sad to leave Dr. Love's crew. HIghly recommend them.

Dr. Koerten, I believe the name of his practice is New Life. I delivered my first at LeConte with him in 2010. He was great about letting me call the shots because he knew I had read up modern, mother and baby friendly birthing techniques. There is a better term for that. He monitored my health very closely throughout the pregnancy and Ft. Sanders Regional caught placenta previa on an ultrasound there, but I prayed it away! Dr. Koerten and I go to the same church. He prayed for my daughter and me during labor. His partner is also a strong Christian. I cannot recommend their office enough!

Guerra and Koerten are amazing! I was high risk but far along enough when I found out I was pregnant for them to tell by just the ultra sound they did in the office so I'm not sure about that. Dr. Love is who delivered my 3 rd and I didn't hate him but he made me feel like shit once. Dr. Guerra delivered my 4 th and Dr. Koerten delivered my 5 th and I highly recommend them.
