ISO a barber who trims beards in the shelby area. If I do it myself it will result in shaving it all off lol.

Any black barbershops in Asheville? My apologies if anyone takes offense to this question, but from my experience black barbers do a better job of cutting black hair....

Smooth Do’s on a Eagle is part of the original Black Business District, The Block. Slim and B are both good fun and skilled barbers. Also, they make and keep appointments which is a rarity for Barbershops. Legends on New Leicester is a quality barbershop as well.

White male here but i do know that Smooth's on Eagle st is a long-time classic for 20 years+ and be aware of the dose of political discussion included with the price of admission. He used to post flyers for me.

There’s a great one a block north of Barleys on Eagle St!

Hey, so there is a young man who is born and raised in Asheville, has been cutting since the age of 12 out of the Arden. Long story short, that young boy grew up, moved away and now manages a shop in Durham NC. BUT!!! He comes back home every other weekend (Sat-Monday) to cut his hometowns hair. He cuts by appointments only out of a little private one chair suite. If you have a facebook you can book your experience thru his Facebook page "Slic Cutz"!!!! He hopes to meet you soon!!!

Kings and Queens on Tunnel Rd. is pretty good. I'd recommend Legends Barbershop which is where I go
Kenilwort replied:
A lot of people go to to legend's on new leicester highway, ashevillr has a real shortage of black barber shops
effortfulcrumload replied:
Jr's is right across from Smoothes Do Drop in on Eagle. He's got a much smaller shop and is a little bit more exclusively black. Soci's braiding shop is right next to that.

I've been to Smooths a few times and it's a good spot. B does really good pattern work. Recently I've been getting cut by Jeremy@Savage Cuts on south slope. Really like his work and the quiet atmosphere. If you want to book with him you need to download an app called The Cut which in my experience has really streamlined my barber shop routine.

you’ve probably got a bunch of good answers already but O’s place in south avl on hendersonville road does pretty good work from what i’ve seen! he shares a building with trax hair which is also black owned and the woman who owns it has cut my hair for ages (although i haven’t gotten it cut at all recently and when i have i just went to great clips to shear some off the bottom). i am white and so is my fiancé but he got a pretty nice high and tight at o’s the last time he was here.
