Thanks for all the suggestions! I will look into Reading Eggs. We are going to be using Easy Peasy Homeschooling, but it's pretty heavy on the reading so I was looking for supplementary stuff. My 8-year-old hates to read, even though he does very well at it. My suggestion of going to the library was met with heel-digging resistance. He said he only wanted to read on the computer. So I loaded the Kindle app on my ipad and downloaded "The Adventures of Captain Underpants" today ($1.99 on Amazon). He read 12 chapters in one sitting and loved it.

Let him explore www.khanacademy.com. They have a LOT of lessons in video format. My kids are also struggling readers but it hasnt stopped them from exploring science, art, history, robotics, math and they just completed a computer programming course...all for free, and very little reading required. I have 4 th and 5 th graders.
