Hi there.. I have applied to all midwives in the capital region immediately upon finding out I was expecting .. birthing at lucina with the care of a midwife is...

I just loved Dr. Kuc, she was the doctor I had with my first birth. She was incredible, really laid back and very supportive. I cannot say enough great things about her! Wishing you all the best in finding a wonderful birth partner <3
Dyvonna I. replied:
I love pretty much the entire "blue team":) Dr J is a favourite for sure. I agree with Jenna Craig, don't give up hope on a midwife, it could happen for you- best of everything!
Jenna S. replied:
Christine - I went to the Low Risk Primary Care Maternity Clinic which is how I found DR. Jacobs. He was the DR on call during my labor with my first child. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child I wanted him for sure - no chance of another DR. If you want him for sure just have your GP specifically refer you to him at his clinic, not the Primary Care Clinic:)
Liz D. replied:
Following this:) I also am hoping to birth at the sturgeon.. But was supposed to see Dr.Mayo? Is it true he doesn't go there anymore? I was told he still does and I won't be seeing him until 28 weeks..
Jenna C. replied:
Dr. Mayo no longer delivers at the sturgeon, unfortunately.
Jenna S. replied:
DR. Jacobs! My doula called him the male midwife. He was amazing at letting me give birth in my own time and on my terms. Because of him I was able to go through labor without interventions or the temptation of pain medication. I had the exact same plan A and plan B as you with my current pregnancy! Thankfully was able to get a midwife but Sturgeon with Dr. Jacobs is definitely the next best thing!
Veva N. replied:
Dr Mayo said yes to me a few months ago before I got my midwife...
Liz D. replied:
Well, heard from the Prenatal program at the Sturgeon that Dr. Mayo doesn't deliver there anymore. So bummed.
Claire M. replied:
I wouldn't go with Dr Tam or Dr Jiwa. They are only supportive if birth moves along and isn't slow. Dr Jacobs is open minded and fun he likes to be in charge:)
Kate A. replied:
Dr Jacobs 100%!!! He was beyond fantastic! Congratulations!!!
Veva N. replied:
Dr Mayo's clinic is in Edmonton but has privileges there. We ended up starting with him by got a midwife. He's supposed to be awesome and midwife friendly as well as the go to do to for them if complications arise
Alana K. replied:
I had Dr Lidkea deliver both my girls but also saw Dr. M Pratt and she was great too. That would be my suggestions for a care provider to deliver at the sturgeon
Shawna Z. replied:
Unfortunately, Dr. Mayo only works from the Royal Alex at this point. Dr. Lidkea very sadly passed away:'(
Nich M. replied:
Dr Jilwah. Her office is right across from the sturgeon
Need help...does anyone know of a good general practitioner doctor that sees adults and children? I'm new to the area...willing to travel to Edmonton.
Thanks in...

I moved to Tofield last year and have been seeing Dr Snyman at the Smith Clinic in Camrose. I am very impressed with how thorough and thoughtful he is.

Smith Clinic in camrose.

I got to meet Dr. Muneer in tofield today... I found him very rude and Abrupt...and honestly very uneducated on simple things and he was disrespectful to me and Ya.. Horrible experience.. I would rather drive to Camrose... Smith clinic has a new pediatrician... He is great(section C) but I can't remember his name. Dr Slabbert is good and Dr. Leslie or Dr. Adelle if in need on obgyn
Stephanie O. replied:
never had a problem with Dr. Muneer he sees all of us and he is good but thats just my opionion

Try Westgrove Medical Clinic. Theresa few female docs there. Great ladies. 789-962-9888.
Tanya B. replied:
West grove as mentioned above does have a slough of new Dr's. as for dentist we use Dr Aneca at Sunrise Dental. He is amazing amazing with kids ( I have a very apprehensive boy who he's worked wonders with!) and I've also found their whole staff to be wonderful to deal with as well.

We just moved here last year ourselves, we have three girls and go to Karo Dental in Spruce! Dr. Shay is amazing!! No kidding she looks and acts like Belle from Beauty and the Beast! My girls LOVE her! She is so sweet and friendly!
Amanda W. replied:
Dr Sadiq at Parkland Medical in the Rexall building:) we just moved to Stony Plain from Fort Mac and got in with her, we have 3 girls (5 1/2, 3, and 10 weeks)
This might seem like an odd question but I am wondering if anyone knows of a really good doctor who might be willing to take on a student for occasional clinical...
Amanda B. replied:
I don't know if you would be interested in working with a dermatologist but Dr. Katz is amazing (and in the Park). I'm sure you would see all kinds of stuff!
