I am looking for "the best of the best" possible equine vet/dentist? I live in Slave Lake and would be willing to travel as far as Edmonton!!! Suggestions??

I use Angel Roberts......

Dellany Vet Services
Laurel G. replied:
I am that way also Kim Bradford. My vet is Angel, but she is mobile so not sure how that would work. Roberts Veterninary Services, 780-953-4435. I was told long ago, to only get a vet that does floating with hand tools, never with the auto grinder. That is how Angel does it..hand tools...
Donna H. replied:
I agree with Laural about the hand floating. Randy Killeen does all of our herd-12 horses and it doesn't break the bank. Not sure if he is taking on new clients. He is at 780-467-5156... His wife, Kelly, answers the phone and takes the messages.
Laurel G. replied:
Well then your choices are Westlock clinic, Delanys, or Edmonton Equine. those are the ones I know of. The best thing is to phone them and talk with them. Then you will have to "try" one out. Ask them if they "hand float" or "power float". If they power float, I personnaly wouldnt use them. I believe the room for error is much higher, and the stress level would be high, considering they would us a power tool. Just my thoughts...
Nicole K. replied:
Then Delaney vets is the place to go. The do both hand and power float and I would much prefer hand float. I've seen dentists use the power float and looking at that tool and having the dentists hands come out cut up, not thanks for my horses.

yes. that is true, Dellany is a site. Mind you Westlock Vet has an awesome large animal dr. His name is Dr. Collin Lawrence.....and ....hmmm he is easy on the eyes if you know what i mean...and they have a clinic there.
Kelly W. replied:
The consensus is Definatly Angel, if you want to drive as far as sherwood park Lana delaney is really good and westwind which used to be Edmonton Equine is good to although both of them are pricey compared to angel
Donna H. replied:
I use Randy Killeen and have used for the past decade. He is in Sherwood Park. Lots of people travel from Northern Alberta to him. Randy is originally from Slave Lake area. Also like the fact he is ambulatory.
