Definitely call Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter to ask about their next Spay/Neuter Clinic. I got both my boys done with rabies shot for $100.
Cindy T. replied:
Shippensburg Animal Hospital is actually one of the cheaper vets in the area if you use the discount spay/neuter programs. Look into SNAP: http://www.snapofpa.org/ and/or PAWS of PA: http://www.pawsofpa.org/ Healing Paws in Carlisle will come to you but I don't have a clue what their prices are. Oh, there's also Promise Animal League. Heard good things about them and their prices as well but definitely check into the assistance programs. I've had all my dogs fixed under PAWS and I have no complaints.

https://m.facebook.com/Burnt-Mill-Veterinary-Center-153970557971699/ They are great! They have fantastic reviews. They were booked but squeezed us in because my dog was in pain. Super nice & take the time to educate you.
Annie K. replied:
http://silverspringsanimalclinic.net/ I had a male cat neutered for around $50...they have a program called SNAP
Susan B. replied:
nobodyscats.org Non-profit based in Camp Hill. I believe they will spay/ neuter, give pain meds, rabies and distemper shots, and ear clip (shows that the feral cat has been neutered) for $25. Their purpose is to help control feral cat colonies so I think you have to bring your cat(s) in a trap, but they loan out the traps, or you can get them at Tractor Supply. Only thing they don't do is test and vaccinate for Feline Leukemia, but that's so expensive I can see why they don't. Hope this helps!
I'm new to Shippensburg. I need some feed back on a good vet here in town. My dog has come up with a limp & I need him looked at. Thanks

Burnt Mill - 423-6536. Been using them since I had pets as a kid. Very low key atmosphere, quality care and reasonable prices. The original vets, Oakley and Simms have retired, but Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Smith are the vets now.
Chris H. replied:
Not Shippensburg Vet Hospital. Made the mistake of not following my Ship friends and went there. Biggest mistake I ever made. Now I'm a Burnt Mill customer. My neighbors dog got into her script mess. Boiling Springs Animal hospital. Dr. Purcell is not much of a people person but she is experienced with Giant breeds and also with aggressive. I to have one who does this. Only about 20 mins to 30 mins depending on where in Ship you live.

Both Burnt Mills and Animal Hospital do. Burnt Mills does it and probably cheaper. I wouldn't go there again for that. Anamial hospital may be more expensive but it's the new laser way and I trust them more. They don't even have to keep them over night.
Teddie E. replied:
Central Valley Veterinary Hospital717-530-1060. They don't do laser and the staff can explain the procedure.

My cat is going on 16 years old and I had her front paws declawed when she was a kitten. She has had no problems at all. As long as it's an indoor cat, and will stay an indoor cat as mine has, there is no problem. If the cat will be outside at all, please don't. I had Burnt Mill do mine, but like I said, it was about 15 -16 years ago.
Does anyone know if there are any vets in the area who will travel to your home to perform euthanasia? My baby cat is 17 years old and going downhill rather quickly....

Mountain View has been my vet since I moved here almost ten years ago. I have many pets and a lot of them are special needs and have been tough cases. Dr. Amy and her staff have always been exceptional, very sensitive and caring. I cant speak of any of the other vets in the area, because I have never had any need to use their services. Someone is always available 24/7 at Dr. Amy's to address current client emergencies. And unfortunately I have had to use that service more often then I would like to remember:\ But yeah, they are wonderful there.
