Just to Echo what Adrian has said - ANY new wiring done in a domestic premises must comply with part P of the building regulations. Therefore anyone installing such works must be Part P qualified. Otherwise At Best - the works wont comply with Part P and your house insurance will be invalid, and it will be difficult if you try to sell ... and at worst - it could kill someone !! Eric Churchyard BSc (Hons) C.Eng MIET MBCS you can see that RS electrics is NIECEIC registered ( courtesy of Adrian Tacchi), and also John Carroll ( the one I recommended ) is also registered to Part P via NAPIT

Nick Clarke. NAPIT registered
Adrian T. replied:
At the risk of repeating myself, please make sure whoever you use, that they are Registered with the N.I.C.E.I.C, ( National Inspection Council, for Electrical Installation Contracting) or similar Regulatory Body. Whilst price is an important consideration, it should not be the only one, anyone carrying out Domestic Electrical Rewiring must be Registered by law, ask to see the Registration Certificate, a bona-fide contractor would present their documents and be pleased to do so. My money would be with Russ Smith, R.S. Electrics being N.I.C.E.I.C., which means that he is a member of a very professional body and all work is fully guaranteed.
James G. replied:

I don't doubt what you say James but is he Part "P" registered as required by the Building Inspectorate, it doesn't matter how good you are, if your not Registered, you shouldn't do it.

Rik B. replied:
Yes he is Adrian as I previously stated! Fully registered member with the ECA as I'm sure you are aware is now in joint partnership with the NIC EIC .
