Would sincerely appreciate your recommendations for dog obedience classes held locally as well please! Sorry I didn't think to ask at same time as vet posting.
Jillian C. replied:
http://www.michellepaysondogtraining.com I've done two sessions with Michelle both 6 weeks long and loved her, her company has classes all over as well as private lessons
Lynn S. replied:
I agree, Michelle is great. I believe she does the trainings at The Natural Pet on Grafton St in Worcester as well as private trainings. This is a rescue dog, right? I was told to wait a couple of months before training so you have a chance to get to know the dog and their behavior and they get to settle in.

In the process of adopting a rescue dog. Totally bummed to learn my vet has moved away so I am now looking for a recommendation for local vet, not just the clinic name...

I use Banfield in Northborough. We used the one in Millbury with our last dog and loved it there but went with Northborough this time b/c it's closer. There are 3 vets there and they are all great. I personally think their Wellness plan is a great plan, we've already saved quite a bit of money. I don't remember all of the vets names off hand but the Chief Vet is Dr. Brocki and she's wonderful.
Jean W. replied:
Jillian Frasier at Northborough VCA she is great!
Lee S. replied:
Jean Marie Walsh I totally agree!! Dr. Fraser at the VCA is awesome. All the vets I've seen there are great as is the support staff. And they're open until midnight during the week and are open on Saturdays and Sundays. I also HIGHLY recommend Dr. Amy Ruggerio. She has provided such wonderful care for our diabetic cat!! I really can't say enough about the VCA. They are also very understanding of household budgets and will provide estimates and options without you having to ask how much something is going to cost.
Alison T. replied:
Dr Nick at Route 20 Animal Clinic is the best vet around! Reasonably priced and so caring- he always calls to check up on my dogs!
Pamela A. replied:
Dr. Dugong is the best. Love him. Putnam is the best. He is a great person. Would recommend him to anyone. So caring and compassionate

VCA Northborough - awesome staff, friendly, compassionate, understanding. We've been through a lot with our dogs and they supported is all the way.
Mary T. replied:
I actually hike all the way up to Robin Chapman at Rutland Veterinary Clinic. I was referred to her years ago when I had a rescued puppy mill dog with an illness that baffled the other 3 or 4 vets I saw. She figured it out first visit, and other illnesses as well. I have taken 3 dogs to her and 4 cats and swear by her. At one point she suggested I get a second opinion from Tufts from a specialist on a complicated bladder stone issue with my puppy mill dog. She was dead on. On top of that, I find her prices more reasonable than a lot of other local vets. I feel like I hit the lottery with her. I dread the day she retires.
Heather G. replied:
VCA Northborough My whole family has used them for years. All the vets and techs there are wonderful. Dr. Fraiser, Dr. Henry, Dr.Ruggerio, Dr. Cohen and many more have given top notch care to my pet for 20 + years The are understanding, and open such amazing hours.

I know it's a hike, but after not getting results for a sick dog from several local vets I was referred to Robin Chapman in Rutland and will be loyal till the day she retires. She has been dead on with every diagnosis, and has referred me to Tufts for second opinions to make sure she's right and she's always been right. I now have my 3 rd dog and 4 th cat with her.

We took our dog to Compassion Veterinary on route 20 in Marlborough. Dr. Patel was always so good to us. We started seeing him when we lived in Marlborough. They were so kind when our precious dog got so sick and needed to be put down, too. I know it's kind of far, but I can't say enough about them.
