Any open gym programs locally where my two year old can run around and climb, etc?

Not exactly the same but I do have a Dance With Me, Toddler workshop starting on Wednesday. The toddlers (and their grownups) burn off a lot of energy in the 45 minutes. :-) www.hipcirclestudio.com It does cost money ($40 for 4 weeks) but we do have a sliding-scale scholarship available.

I encourage you to visit Winnetka Covenant Church which is actually in Wilmette at Illinois and Hibbard just behind the Chalet. There's an open playgroup on Wed@9:30 in a large gym with riding equipment and toys. The outdoor playground is brand new - great climbers and lots of open green space! I'm a proud member of the planning committee and the creative director of the early childhood music & arts enrichment summer programs - CKC. ( creativekidscorner.org) I'm not there on Wednesday's but I know it's an open door policy.

In case anyone was interested, it's a little bit of a drive, but this is what we are checking out tomorrow morning for $3! http://www.deerfieldparks.org/parks-facilities/jewett-park-community-center/tree-house/

Little Beans cafe will open in February. They have a location in Lincoln Park if you want to check out how they work. Finding places for climbers is tough. Skokie has some indoor climbing areas in the Exploratorium - but when my son was that age, our best resource was getting an out-of-town membership to kids' museums and science museums that gets you in to all of them. You have to find one about 300 miles away to qualify. Noteabart had a fairly decent indoor play area.

I would call Family Focus, they have a room for kids. I'm not sure if you have to be part of the program. I do know they have play dates every other Tuesday's
