Solar powered flood lights? Does anyone here know anything about solar powered floodlights? I don't want to hire an electrician to install new lights and I don't know...

They are easy to replace and it took me about 20 mins tops to replace a fixture above my garage door. The heaviest part maybe the one where you have to carry a ladder to reach a fixture. You can often find these at Costco on sale and will run you a long time depending on the traffic you get. I ended up going with a motion detector one which was hard wired as oppose to a solar powered one.

I use solar powered lights and they've worked for over a year, so far only had two go out on me and asked the AMZ seller to replace them. I prefer using them. I buy the LITOM brand from the seller StarTop. I just bought my 3 rd batch. The first batch is somewhere in my unopened moving boxes and the 2 nd was given to my mother. **However, it seems that 1/4 stops working after 12 months.** This is an issue for both 1 st and 2 nd batches. 2 out of 8 lights were replaced as they were under warranty.

I've tried solar powered across the years and always found them terribly disappointing. Low light, not durable. It's entirely possible more recent variations are better, but I just won't use them. A flood light already installed that has gone bad is a cinch to replace, it's very basic black wire to black wire, white to white, ground to ground installation. Just make sure you flip the breaker to the light before working in it. Flood lights do go out every several years, at least in my experience. Also, are you certain it's not just the bulbs that need replacing?
