The Doubletree is a nice property, but inconvenient. You do not want to be too close to Duval as this can be noisy. Westwinds is an independent inn near the docks, so handy for early morning excursions. http://www.westwindskeywest.com/ Eden House is in a residential area, so very quiet http://www.edenhouse.com/

VRBO.com. You can get a condo for a lot less than any hotel or travel agent. Go to orange beach or gulf shores in the fall. MUCH cheaper
