Anna Pasquarello Sherck of Shiny Shiny Black (find her on Facebook) . . . She is a pro, knows her stuff, and a joy to work with. Hal . . . 5743869856 he has run sound for us at the Hearth. Jim Malosh often runs sound for us. He has excellent gear as well. 269 422 2142 If these do not work, send me an emails (john@kennedyskitchen.com) I've got a list of other names that I've collected over the years. I always get a phone number/card when we work with someone that we like.
Question for parents who have a kid in the school band (middle school) how often do u have to change a reed for a clarinet & are there any music stores in our area to...
Kenkesha S. replied:
How often you change reeds depends on the child. If they are just learning they will go through them more frequently. Buy them by the box The price is better. As their mouth gets stronger the size of the reed will change so don't buy too many boxes at once. Vandorens are the best ones... Don't buy Rico brand. You'll regret it. Also be sure to get them a reed holder. The store is Music & Arts. They have a rewards program and they email discounts for band supplies.
Mindi J. replied:
Order your reeds from here. http://www.wwbw.com/ Use only Vandoren. My Dad is a professional musician. He swears by them. Also, I am on my second woodwind kid in band! Frequency depends on use. Every couple of weeks is about right. A fresh one before a big event is a good idea. What school?
Mindi J. replied:
And Amy is right. Flying Squirrel is the best place. Peter takes great care of my Dad and my son's stuff!

Sam Ash on Capital sells reeds also. And get to know these great guys:http://www.flyingsquirrelmusicnc.com/about.html
