Hey vegans,
I'm planning a wedding in southeast Michigan and I'm looking for suggestions for vegan vendors. I'm just starting to plan so we need everything. I'm most...

Hi Kaitlin! My husband and I just had our vegan wedding in October. We selected Brewery Becker in downtown Brighton as our venue. It was beautiful, and they let us bring in our own caterer. For food, we went with The Wooden Spoon in Brighton. While not a purely vegan restaurant/catering service, they worked with us, and their chef created an incredible vegan and gluten-free menu for us. My husband and I love to travel, so our menu was a selection of international dishes served buffet-style at different stations. For dessert, we ordered our favorite vegan chocolates from a company in California, which also turned out well. Oh, the night of the wedding, we also found out that the DJ we selected (from GoPro Productions/DJ Urban Kris) was a vegan himself. Please feel free to send me a private message if you would like more details or have any questions!

8 years ago my husband and I had a vegan wedding at Wabeek Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. The chef had never done a vegan wedding before, but we met with him a few times and shared some of our favorite cookbooks for inspiration. He came up with an incredible, all-vegan menu with 2 entree choices, a salad, and an array of appetizers. I don't know if that venue would match what you're looking for or if that chef is still there, but I share this story because it doesn't hurt to ask a chef at a traditional reception venue to create a menu with you. We didn't have any specifically vegan vendors and a dear friend made our cake, but there are so many more choices now that you should be able to find lots of great vendors. Good luck!!

Hi Kaitlin, this place did an amazing cake for my parents' anniversary. They didn't even know it was vegan until afterward! Plus, they created figurines on the top that looked just like them too (and their pets!) http://www.cakesbyrubina.com/VegansCake.htm
Kaitlin Southern we can cater/deliver kombucha. If you're interested, please email us at neukombucha@yahoo.com or call 248 837 0932....Amber at clean plate and the cacao tree might be interested in catering food. We bought our wedding cake from love & buttercream, in Royal oak, which was super good, vegan, and gluten-free. We hope we helped in some way!
