Both Walmart and HEB rent out rug doctors. Self service kiosk at Walmart, not 100% sure the process for HEB. They are quite heavy, so help lifting in and out of vehicles and upstairs would be ideal.

Rug Doctor Will make it look good. A unit from an equipment rental company will clean it deeper. A professional, with a van mounted unit will probably clean it all the way to the subfloor. It's all in the agitation & suction. Professional probably cost you 20-30% more. But you're back won't hurt either.
