I have two "local" recommendations: u/Cdl425 and u/LiversAreCool. The former is u/kabaclyde 's US watch repair guy, while the latter is an aspiring watchmaker. I was going to have either of them work on my King Seiko but something came up last minute so I went somewhere else for quicker service. Good luck!

[x-post /r/watches] [Question] Looking for someone to repair/restore Seiko 6139-6005

/u/seikoholic is highlighted in this [article](http://wornandwound.com/interview-spencer-klein-watchmaker-seiko-specialist/). He contributes to /r/watches all the time and is a huge resource for Seiko knowledge. If hub city vintage doesn't work, contact him.

Spencer Klein at Klein Vintage Watches is super well regarded. He has a YouTube channel where he evaluates watches people send in and a few follow ups of the restored product when he's done. His waitlist is lengthy but he's worth it!

I'm sure a local watchmaker could fix it, but there's so much variation between watchmakers (pricing, ability, etc), that you're better off checking around locally.
MangyCanine replied:
Try asking this in /r/JapaneseWatches. They should be able to suggest someone (one of the mods there is quite literally one of the best people in the US for working on Seikos, but he's got something like a year's backlog).

Contact Seth at hubcityvintage.com

Look up a local watchmaker/watch repair shop. A crystal replacement is cake. Should cost you like $30-$40. Unless you go sapphire. Then like $80-$100. The crown should be relatively inexpensive too.

Pretty well known vintage experts are Art Dial Watch www.artdialwatch.com. Plenty of redditors have used Jose Sr. owner and head watchmaker, and his team of watchmaker sons. Also there wont be a crazy 6 month wait like alot of watchmakers.

I assume you're in the US so I don't think this option works for you. However if someone reading this lives in Germany and needs their 6139 repaired I highly recommend https://speedtimer-repair.com/

Is there any followup to this repair? Where did you send it? How much did it cost? Do you have it back yet?
