Not Northland but does anyone remember the Red Devil Italian restaurant on Six Mile between Greenfield and Southfield? Loved that place back in the 70s
Jane M. replied:
I used to like the fish and chips at Bet and Jesse on Grand River. It's still there near the Salvation Army store.
Jim B. replied:
Red Devil closed a while ago. It was reopened as a sports bar for a while, but that closed down in the last year or two. Someone on the Grand River/Greenfield page posted a picture of the sports bar a while back. I think there are Red Devil restaurants in Holly and Fenton, but I don't know that they're related in any way to the' original' in Detroit.
Jim B. replied:
Here's the picture of the sports bar. They kept the Red Devil name on the sign, figuring it would attract people who knew the name. https://www.facebook.com/jim.burke.923?ref=name#!/photo.php?fbid=10200119406611421&set=o.47874964535&type=3&theater

Mark Applebaum had a bar mitzvah party there.
Jim B. replied:
The Red Devil was on Fenkell and Prest, one block east of Greenfield. Only had there pizza a couple of times but loved it. It was well loved by the neighborhood people, gets talked about a fair amount on the Grand River/Greenfield page.

Can someone please recommend an authentic Mexican restaurant around the Southfield area?
Nicole C. replied:
Authentic means not in Southfield! You gotta go to Mexican Town. Ok Mexican. ...Perhaps Monterrey Jacks in Royal Oak or Cantina Diablos also in Royal Oak
