Looking for a good and reasonably priced auto mechanic in the downriver area. Any suggestions?

Heritage Car Care on Allen Road just north of Goddard. Very honest, fixes what needs fixing without just changing parts needlessly. The people from several churches go there because of their good mechanics and honesty.

I was thinking the same thing about finding a good mechanic for my car. Just this past week I had my fuel pump replaced on my 2001 Mercury Cougar I've owned since new. When my car broke down I didn't have much of a choice. I had it fixed at Motorcity Auto Care in Southgate. It cost me $451 for a new fuel pump. I don't know if I want to go back there again.

Goddard Auto Repair on Eureka Road in Taylor. Doug Cloutier and the guys are great! Their prices are great and they won't screw you over......they won't try to fix things that aren't broken on your vehicle, either. I've been taking my cars there for th e past few years now. They just did a heater core job on my 2004 Dodge Caravan, which involves removing the dashboard to replace. Original quote was for $700.....they did it for just over $400. Great service!

I like Tom's Family Auto Care on Allen in Woodhaven. They will not charge you if they don't find anything wrong. I've took a car in there because the dealership said it needed brakes "real bad". They told me I had plenty of brake left and didn't charge me anything. Another time I took a car there because of a vibration. They said it didn't vibrate while they had it and didn't charge anything.
