I’m in very similar situation as you. I’ve found [Dr. Andrew Wertz](https://m.facebook.com/Andrew-B-Wurtz-DDS-165520780140970) to be refreshing and I’m able to stay relaxed. I can’t stand needles and dread getting a cavity filled, I honestly didn’t feel a thing. They picked up on my nervousness from the beginning and made me fill at ease. They are great when dealing with insurances and coming up with a plan that will fit you.

It's a bit of a drive, but I have similar issues as you and see Dr. Jacob Ridl in Cheney. I would whole-heartedly recommend him.

I've never been there and I don't know much about it beyond reading a couple minutes on their website, but Sleep Dentistry on 29 th sounds like they cater to those with dental anxiety and might even give you something to take the edge off during your exam.

I cannot recommend enough Dr. Van Gemert at Liberty Park Family Dentistry on S Perry Street. I also had severe anxiety stemming from many bad experiences as a child. Jennifer, one of the dental hygienists there, is the gentlest and most highly skilled dental hygienist I have ever had. She has NEVER caused me pain and is a very sweet person. As for Dr. Can Gemert, he's fairly young and also very nice, and is extremely skilled at what he does. He has never recommended unnecessary treatments and is very conscious of how the patient is feeling. I'm telling you - I didn't go to the dentist for 5+ years due to my anxiety about it. Now I actually look forward to cleaning appointments. It actually feels good to me now. Please go see them!!! They are absolutely the best in town.

Do not go to Mitchell Martin. I had a horrid experience there just yesterday. I worked for over a decade to be able to see a dentist with ONLY n2o for cleanings (rather than full sedation for cleanings) and that work was eradicated. Also, Sleep Dentistry wants you to do two appointments for the first visit, so I don't know if that would be an issue for you (it was for me), but if it is, don't go there. They also only had "flavored noses" for the n2o. I made a stink about it, so they may have changed that, but if you decide to use them, and it's an issue for you, ask about it. I'm looking for another one, so thanks for your post. One thing I do know that I have to have is a sedation dentist. I'm looking at gentle dentistry right now, but we'll see. I may never be able to go again.

Weishaar-weber in the valley is terrific! Went there after skipping the dentist for over 7 years, they were very good about determining your level of dental anxiety (in fact, it was one of the first questions they asked), skilled during cleaning and drilling, etc. Plus, they have nitrous (and headphones you can borrow to listen to music), and nitrous + music + topical + local anesthetic made the filling process pretty much pain and anxiety-free.
