Anyone have suggestions for a good OBGYN and Pediatrician that will be understanding of the vegan lifestyle?
Danae S. replied:
Beth actually has her own practice now (https://www.facebook.com/smallbeginningsmidwifery)! And here is the website for the Rockwood Midwives: http://www.rockwoodclinic.com/services/midwifery-center
Danae S. replied:
I highly recommend the Rockwood Midwives (who deliver at Deaconess). They were very supportive of my vegan lifestyle during my pregnancies with my two kids. For a pediatrician, do you have any particular preferences? We've seen several, but I really like Brenda Stoudt. My husband is vegan and sees pediatric and family patients, so he is very supportive of vegan parenting, but he practices in Deer Park.

Our midwife Beth Morrill is fantastic! Can give her number if you like
ISO: ob/gyn in sandpoint! Anybody have a great experience with their prenatal doctor? What about ones to stay away from? Thanks!
Serina W. replied:
I can tell you I don't recommend women's health or a Dr that's mentioned on here. Everyone's experience is different but mine was horrible and led me to Denise Midstokke at pend orielle midwifery. Highly recommend her. I will never step foot into women's health again even I'd they're the only option, I'll have my baby at home alone first.
Bethany M. replied:
Denise Midstokke@Ponderay Midwifery Services. In my experience and many of my friends', she is sooo comfortable and capable.

I recommend Birth by Design Midwifery, Beth Morrill out of Spokane. Excellent care, wonderful midwife. She doesn't do hospital births, but she does do appointments in Sandpoint. (509) 998-1726.

Hi everyone,
Can anyone suggest a midwife center in Spokane or nearby areas? We will be moving to Spokane at the end of the month and wanted to start searching for one...
Josh M. replied:
We actually have a nice list of vegan midwives in the region :) http://www.inveg.org/resources/spokane/spokane-compassionate-health-professionals.html
Chelsea B. replied:
There is Spokane Midwives, which is the only free standing birth center in town. They permit home births, water birth, and birth center births. They accept a wide array of insurances. There are also midwives with Deaconess Hospital. I've personally used Spokane Midwives and I love them. If you have any further questions about them I'd be happy to answer!
My kids have a pediatrician and I have an OBGYN, but I need a Dr. for the in-between stuff like my general health. I'd love to have a female doctor...any recommendations...

Dr. Occhino at Sacred Heart is amazing. She's our perinatal medical director at Northwest Medstar. She is super smart and sweet. I haven't had kids myself but I would trust her for sure! Not sure how busy she is...
For Spokane women, do you have a female gynecologist you'd recommend? I have a friend new to the area and requesting your help. Thanks!
Robin H. replied:
Does it need to be a woman? I have seen Dr. Zwiesler at NW OB for years and he is wonderful. Excellent bedside manner and really cares about his patients.
