I've had no issues with Cycles Unlimited. Like any place, if you respect them, they'll jump through hoops for you. CU has just worked best for me and my needs in cycling, and as such, have earned my repeat business. Every other place in town has been great. Queen City hooked me up with exactly the footwear I was looking for, Springfield Bicycles on Campbell for my mountain bike brakes and getting my Podio in awesome shape, Sunshine Bike Shop has been fantastic for those group rides I can take my fiance along with, in addition to their great demeanor and service. A&B has been wonderful as well, especially with them being open on sundays.
I shop at Queen City Cycle and they usually have some good used and new bikes. They can usually work with you if you need some kind of layaway too. If you are looking for something cheaper though and want something better than Wal MArt quality, you could check some local Flea Markets. They will have some okay bikes every now and again.
Does anyone know of a bike shop that teaches a basic bike maintenance class? I've been looking and have had no such luck!
