The Tooth Truck (the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile) is a not-for-profit mobile dental unit that see's only children, and primarily between the ages of 3-14. We have seen older kiddos, depending on the situation. We are also a Medicaid provider. If you would like any info, give our landline a call. You'll have to leave a message, but our office manager will give you a call back to help you get started with the process, as well as answer any questions you may have. The phone number is 417-839-1238. I believe that any child who is in the foster care system would automatically qualify, considering that the foster families have not taken them to a dentist as of yet. Also, aside from the kiddos in the foster care system, we would see any child that would meet our qualifications. The qualifications are pretty basic: A. Cannot have or be on any type of private dental insurance. We will, however, see kids with or without Medicaid. B. Would qualify for free/reduced lunches in the public school system. And C. Cannot have seen (or be established with) a dentist within the past year. We will do the initial cleaning, x-rays and exam upon the first appointment, and then any work needed will be done for the child, at no cost to the family. Additionally, all of our services are free of charge. Anything I haven't covered can be answered by giving us a call.

Marge C. replied:
Henry Kirshner was pres. of Capital Bank when I worked ther. He left Capital to start Town & Country. No connection between the two banks but his son is an officer of Town & Country. Henry is deceased but hif wife & I are friends. If you need more help, I can contact her as she knows history of the banks.
Joyce W. replied:
Years ago it started out as. Captital Bank.
Lynn C. replied:
You're not going to find it under Capitol Bank. Regions number is 855-734-4667, that was its most recent name and they ought to have records showing the history and acquisitions.
Mike J. replied:
Capitol Bank & Trust, got my land loan there in 1980. Warren Martin was president. Nice people.
If anyone knows of a dentist or oral surgeon that can take out some wisdom teeth sometime soon, please let me know. My girlfriend is having excruciating pain and can't...

I know this questioned has been addressed before... Who can recommend a local dentist for a 9-yr-old with ASD. EO
Becky B. replied:
I agree with Jordan Valley. Both of my boys on the spectrum see Dr Leary there, wonderful experiences every time!
Amy T. replied:
Dr. Hudkins at smile zone in Springfield. She specializes in children, mainly with disabilities.
Jerry R. replied:
Aaron Dannegger at Best Impressions on REpublic Road is one of my daughters favorite people. She calls him Dr. D and is always asking when she gets to see Dr. D again. He lets her watch a video while he works on her and since she is terrified of needles he doesn't use needles he uses "syringes and other magic dental tools" Hey it works for her!
Heather H. replied:
there is Dr. Menke in Joplin he is very good.
Kaia F. replied:
Child Style Dental is where I take my kids.
Andrea M. replied:
dr. Joseph Pruitt in Springfield is excellent with special needs children. My son has autism and "extreme" sensory issues with his mouth. We usually have to do all his dental work under anesthesia in the hospital because the sensory issues are soooo severe. Dr. Pruitt does the surgery work too. Awesome man!
Michele O. replied:
Our kids go to Buzzbee Dental, and I found them through the providers directory for autism. Our whole family goes to Dr Tyler Buzbee, great guy! Unfortunately, the children did not like Dr Pruitt, and it was always forever before they were seen for their appointment.
Sandra F. replied:
I was also going to say Child Style Dental. The staff are very patient and the Dentist is very nice. My son hates to have anything put in his mouth and he has worked up to opening for his cleanings great. He is also 9.
Tony S. replied:
I'm not a big fan of Child Style Dental. Wasn't good for my son plus they overcharged

I have used Marvin Eichner in Dedham or Norwood offices and have been very happy. Good luck!!
The dental practice in question that has been the subject of a discussion today is not Jordan Valley. The name of the practice and the dentist was shared, but maybe...
Becky B. replied:
My boys see Dr Leary at JV and she's awesome. HOWEVER, let this be known. Starting in a couple of weeks, it will be dental students working on the kids at JV, the Dr will be overseeing 4 exam rooms at the same time. I'm not too happy about the switch, nor is the staff. I know students have to learn, but not on special needs kids:(
Sheryl D. replied:
That said, if you can, drive to OKC to see Dr. Bozalis...there isn't another dentist like him...he is excellent with special kids and he knows how to deal with military insurance ( a huge plus)
Leah P. replied:
Dr. Willard in Branson, Missouri is good with all my kiddos! My son is verbal and has a good vocabulary...but has had problems with sensitivities quite a lot. .but we said the doc is going to put sleepy juice on your tooth...he did great...they did use some nitrous ...but not alot...I was very impressed with their whole team.
Jerry R. replied:
Dr. D in Springfield is wonderful, Best Impressions on REpublic Road.
