John Price worked or works at Seminole Decor. Wonderful and reasonable, always on time. I don't have his number on me. I can get it, or Seminole Decor will tell you.

youtube will help. other then that, take your time, test fit things, and having the proper tools. also, working inside plastic bags (gallon ziplock) will help keep small parts from flying all over.

I assembled one of these when I was young. Assembling it is quite easy as it has very few small parts. Use plastic cement (NOT superglue) to bond it. It looks rather like a cheap toy unless you paint it, however. Don't despair! Painting something like this is easy! Your nacelles and deflector dish are molded in the correct colors. Spray paint the hull a navy eggshell color and paint the phaser banks grey. Get a #1 round brush and paint the windows grey and yellow to create the appearance of some rooms being occupied and some not.

i just completed one a month ago. tips that would have made mine less amateur: 1. use a good primer and try to make sure its uniform as possible (i lost some details behind the saucer section due to a globby prime job). 2. use good paint. i used vallejo dark sea green mixed with a bit of ceramic white 3. the decals are going to be what really makes itstand out so take your time on them.

I've never been able to put one together myself, shoddy fine motor skills, but I always wanted to slowly like I was the designer and crew assembling it at Utopia Planitia. Slow and steady.

I started doing this earlier this year. I have two finished models, and one in progress. Like others suggested, spend time watching the YouTube tutorials on techniques for things like trimming, gluing, puttying, sanding, painting, and applying decals. Also, visit [AllScaleTrek.com](http://www.allscaletrek.com). It's a Trek-specific forum for scale model builders. They're very helpful and encouraging to newbies. I'm cubey_terra there.
