Just moved to the SW of Springfield, MO with my family and I need referrals for good doctors. Pediatricians, Eye doctor, Chiropractor, and family doctor. Thanks!

Marlene beat me to it for a chiropractor! Eye Doctor, Derek Melton at Optiland, 417.869.3937 or The Spec Shop, 417.882.3937..he found eye anomalies in me other eye specialists missed for over 57 years! I just interviewed Dr. Eddie Paulk, DO with the Adult Medicine and Endocrinology Specialists and is on the board of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is with the Cox system, 417.269.4450. Welcome to Springfield!
Springfield fb friends- Can anyone recommend a family doctor in the Mercy network?
Noble B. replied:
The whole team and Family and International Medicine at Smith Glynn is great. We use Dr John Brown but done thing he is taking more patients. Dr Graham is good. For Peds we is Dr Jean Moore, she is amazing!
Noble B. replied:
Dr Honderick at the same clinic we have seen when ours was not in. We like him as well!
Carrie W. replied:
Dr. Sparks is ours at smith glenn. We have only seen him a handful of times but we like him!
Curtis B. replied:
I see Doc Ferris at Smith Glenn Callaway. I like him a lot. I think technically he practices internal medicine, as opposed to a general practioner, but he is the guy I go to for everything
Really bummed...just got a call from our family doctor's office. They are no longer having evening office hours. Anyone who knows me knows that is crucial because of me...
Kyleene S. replied:
When Dr McFann was in Springfield, her office had two evenings a week. She left (moved to AZ) & they cut it down to one evening a week, then I got the call today that they're stopping that. I really haven't been happy with the office since Dr McFann left, but stayed because of the evening hours & the fact that we were established there. Dr McFann was in the office that Dr Gordon is in when I first started going to her, then she opened her own office. I really didn't like it at the Moorefield office. It was run down, noisy & the staff wasn't really friendly. Now, that's been 8-10 years ago, but from what I've seen on www.healthgrades.com, it's mostly the same doctors there. I do have to say that I did see Dr. Gordon when I was there & he was nice, but he is older & when will he decide the retire??? Ughhh...
Leslie H. replied:
Dr. Gordon did, but I would check. It's been awhile that I needed a late appt.

ISO Family doctor or pediatrician - not CHOP in Springfield (they have been fine, just looking for another approach) - holistic or progressive would be helpful. Thanks...
Susan J. replied:
Highly recommend Armen Sevag, D.O. at Riddle.
Mary H. replied:
Yes, Rose Tree medical. RMH Dr Sevag is part of a practice of some really nice doctors
Michael K. replied:
Amy, We take my son to Broomall Pediatrics in Lawrence Park, Shopping Center, a lot of the DOCs are DO's and their education lends them to be a bit more progressive and holistic.
Melissa L. replied:
Dr. Penny Soppas at Drexel Hill Pediatrics is WONDERFUL. Also Rebecca Johnson there is very good. Dr. Flood in Phoenixville is VERY progressive but it's a hike.
Jim W. replied:
We also second Dr. Soppas.
Susan S. replied:
We loved Dr Lehmicke at Riddle. Very caring and not very alarmist, tends to take more of a wait and see attitude when appropriate, rather than over prescribing.
In March, we are switching to Cox insurance. Need a great family practice Dr. I refuse to switch pediatricians, I'll just pay more to see Dr. Jones because my kids adore...

Dr. Caffe or Burson at Whiteside pediatrics. Dr. Caffe is a female, and she is very sweet and thorough. We started seeing her when Logan was born and she has been great.
Anyone have a good recommendation for a family doctor? Caleb has new insurance and the search for a new doc is always scary! Lol
Amy C. replied:
I go to Dr. Huang at Cox South. She's really nice, and her office specializes in internal medicine. They told me if I ever need to go to the emergency room during the day, to just call and come there so it costs less. Anyway, I really like her.
Amber T. replied:
Dr. Thomas at Smith Glynn Calloway. Great bedside manner and was a whole lot more through than my specialist.
