Yes, you should contact Spine & Joint Institute in Fairfax City. My good friend Maria Schafer is co-owner and specializes in pregnant women (and she's the mom of 3 young kids). She's awesome, I think you'd like her. You probably know a bunch of people in common from local mom stuff.

Looking for a good Chiropractor in the NOVA area...anyone have any recommendations? I live in Arlington but I'm willing to travel for one that is worth it.

I swear by Dr. Gottesfeld. Here's her website and she's right in Arlington by the Harris Teeter on glebe. She has helped me countless times for things a simple good mattress won't fix. http://www.arlingtonchiropractor.com/1_our_office.php

[Dr. Hockstra](http://www.gentletouchllc.com/) in McLean. A number of my powerlifting buddies speak very highly of this guy, and my girlfriend just started seeing him for a shoulder issue. So far she's pleased.

I have a lot of problems with my neck and shoulders getting tight. Some home remedies that tie me over between therapist visits are icing and Tylenol every 12 hours for three days. If that helps it is inflammation and you need to rest the muscles some and massage is best. Another thing that helps me is lying on the floor with a tennis ball under the affected areas and roll it around a bit to help loosen up the muscles. Some people do two balls in a soc, but I think one works better. I also found if the problem is between my shoulder and neck I stand in an open doorway at home or at work and lean into the pointed edge of the door jam and move back and forth. This really helps when I have balls of tension near my shoulder blades.

yeah, don't go to a chiropractor and instead: 1) get a decent bed/mattress 2) start weightlifting (do the big lifts) After about a month you will start to feel amazingly different. In lieu of payment, you can donate to the red cross.
