we take our kids to Parkland Eye Care in the Queen Street Building. They even managed to check Paxton's eyes. We don't buy our glasses there but always get our eyes checked there. You can usually get in really quickly too.

We took our kids to Alberta Sports Vision Institute on 170 th street and about 84 ave. Wolf Willow strip mall close to the condos your grandparents used to live in!
