Where are some recommended places in London to get custom moulded ear-plugs made ? I'm travelling a fair bit at the moment, spending lots of time on trains, planes and...

Get some wax ones. It's a wax ball soft but not too soft. You can shape it how ever you want. I also can't sleep in any noise at all. I was given them by a famous singer in a band who swears by them. How to use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCi6 woEfxB0 Seriously best thing ever. I don't know where to get them though. He gave me an entire box. Edit: These may be the same not sure https://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Pharmaceuticals-Muffle-Wax-Earplugs-5-Pairs-_1129526/ I also recommend the "relax and sleep" white noise app.

If you can wait until February and like Motorbikes... [Ultimate Ear](http://www.ultimateear.com/) are going to be at the Motorcycle show from 15-17 th Feb I have a set of moulded headphones for when I'm riding and love them, though it took a couple of adjustments to get them perfect

[Studio Spares](http://www.studiospares.com/) do them, don't know whether they'll knock enough DBs off for sleep though. Moulded ear plugs are also pretty expensive, my friend paid £70 for a pair. I use Tesco's foam ones, they work quite well. They're the only ones I've found in high street shops that are pointy, rather than just cylindrical, so fill your ears properly.

I went to a place near [Clock House (Penge/Beckenham way)](http://goo.gl/maps/DxeYa) a few years back to get some custom moulded earplugs, called [Sensorcom](http://sensorcom.com/)
They are not cheap but the ones I got have interchangeable filters so I can swap my -15dB for either -9 dB or -25 dB SPL ones. They cost around £150 and I went down to get casts made, which was a funny experience. It felt like treacle being poured into each ear, and it took about a week turnaround.
I wear them whenever Im at gigs or if I use the public transport like the tube because of all the shrill noises they have for doors, etc, really annoy the shit out of me. I use these if Im not wearing earbuds with my ipod, before anyone asks.

Ah reddit, you're always on topic for me! Just spent the last week researching this. I am a professional working session musician in central London and recently sat in on Cabaret at the savoy theatre. While chatting to the drummer I noticed he had earplugs in but was able to play the show totally live and full of feel, while also being able to talk normally. He informed he was wearing ACS hearing PRO-17 earplugs

According to the Internet and his testimonial, they are incredible. No loss of clarity in sound, no occlusion effect (when your voice sounds loud in your head) and a feeling as if someone has just turned a volume knob down. For £140 custom moulded they are a bargain. I've got an appointment with ear people in Harley street next to get moulds and they should be here in two weeks hopefully!
